Don’t insult Butch Jones that way. He would put a pretty good product on the field from time to time. I’m not even sure Napier even knows what a football is at this point. He’s more of a Derek Dooley without the orange pants.

Botch Jones felt us Vol fans should be happy with his 8-9 wins, and coined such slogans as "Champions of Life", "eye discipline", "leadership reps", and other zingers. Guy was a hot head and didn't know how to use his talent.

As a Georgia fan, Billy Napier is a great coach. Hopefully he’s in the swamp for a while. 👍🏻

Tennessee and Georgia went decades being irrelevant, and don’t get me started on the Mississippi schools. This is Florida’s turn I guess so we’ll just suck it up until we can afford to hire a real asshole coach that can turn this around.

Florida alum here, watching the Gators since Doug Dickey and Charley Pell. Billy Napier is a fraud. Most of us knew it. Now, everyone knows it. I wouldn't want him coaching a high school team. Butch Jones is way better than Billy. I look forward to the day, whenever the hell it is, that the Gators have a real head coach (and staff), building a program that UF and the SEC deserves. Hope all of your teams have a great season. Go SEC!

I had a thought earlier today about this (also vols fan here). Butch was a like a car salesman who used cheap upsell language like champions of life. Napier is a clueless chef who shouldn't be anywhere near the 5-star kitchen of the SEC.

Last time Samford came to play against Sunbelt Billy in Gainesville the Baptist college scored 52 points. And that was a better Florida team.

Had to suffer through Napier when he was an OC at Clemson. It was painful. Great success at Louisiana. Makes me wonder who was calling the plays. Each case is different, but sometimes you have some quality assistants pulling the strings and the HC is actually clueless. Had one of those at Clemson as well named Tommy Bowden. Knew nothing about people or football. But he was good for a year or two with Rich Rodriguez calling all the plays. Nose dive when he departed. Napier won't make it through the year and Butch Jones is a great analogy.

Florida's issues probably begin with the AD, or higher.

The Florida brand isn't what it used to be to college recruits. I think Florida needs to stick with Napier because they've had too much turnover in the coaching department. It might be another decade or something until they finally get better again but I disagree about firing Napier at this point.

They may not be if they are waking up and ready to fire Napier. They were in trouble 2 years ago. Remember, Tennessee finally turned things around after we hit rock bottom with the Jeremy Pruitt era.

UF has done many important things while Billy Napier has been at UF. Billy Napier has also opened up recruiting lanes in the State of Florida that has been dormant shortly after Urban left. These are reasons a high profile coach would come to UF. In many ways UF is more attractive to an incoming coach than before Billy Napier arrived. Buying out a coach UF can do, but it has to be a harder decision now because you can take that buyout money and buy more players. One challenge at the moment is UF has an interim president, plus if Billy is fired most likely the AD will be fired. So we agree UF is in a pickle, but with the right leadership UF will be prominent again. Its the place coaches can come and win championships based on Geography, Money and History.

Well bury the hatchet it looks like Billy Napier about to be fired after this season called by all because he can't lead them to a winning season can you bring them back to when they won national championships back in the late 2000s with Tim Tebow and Urban Meyer if Dan Mullen wasn't fired 3 years ago we probably not be talking about Billy Napier right now And awful game that they played against Miami on Saturday because Miami looks great and Florida looks like a dumpster fire And this is coming from a Tennessee Vols fan 🍊 I remember Butch Jones I think he's still coaching right now I mean he did lead us to beating Florida and Georgia in that 2016 season which I still remember fondly which everyone thought we was going to go to the college football playoffs that year but that Texas A&m game costed us making the playoffs that 2016 season we finish 8-4 and basically Billy Napier is basically Butch Jones/Derek Dooley

Best description of sunbelt billy aka derek dooley 2.0. Not butch he had two desent seasons in 2015 and 2016. Billy has 3 strait and 4 coming g losing season. Even butch didn't do that bad maybe Pruitt.
