Because masks are useless and it did so much damage to kids. It's like if someone told you "wear a pantie on your head to protect you from COVID" and you had to obey and wear it. It's not that it is terrible to wear a mask, but it is terrible to be forced to do something we know is useless.

Musician here! There are specially modified masks that are EASILY available to buy that have small slits where the instrument is supposed to enter your mouth, but otherwise cover your face the same way any other would. They're slightly uncomfortable, yes, but they do the job just as well as any other. That music teacher was willfully ignorant.

I know that this is VERY late to the party on this video, but during the pandemic, I played the flute. (I still do as now i'm going to junior year in highschool) We still had to play in our band class, and to avoid getting others sick, we had to use special masks with super tight holes in them to prevent air going anywhere else. Since i play flute, my mask had a hole in the side, and i would push my head-joint through to get to my mouth while wearing the mask. Saxophones and most other wind and brass instruments had holes on the front side, in which there whould be a flap to close when you're not playing. We also had to cover our whole instruments in bags to prevent air from leaving the key-openings, and brass instruments would have a mesh bell-cover. So, that one argument about "not being able to play her saxophone with a mask" is complete bull since having these bags and covers were required and sent by music stores to schools.
The entire mask argument was so absolutely stupid. What I was hearing at the time was that people believed it was purely government control, which is such a stupid argument. Just respect others and wear the fricken mask while you’re out. Now, I will say. I personally hated and still hate wearing masks sometimes, because I have anxiety. Actual diagnosed, anxiety, and breathing in my hot air, made it feel like I couldn’t breathe. I wasn’t actually suffocated and I knew that, but it did suck. That’s why when my mask got hot, I lifted it up from my chin to air it out, and pulled it down when I wasn’t around anybody. I didn’t throw a fit, because I didn’t like it. I dealt with it. Complained, yes. Believe I was a sheep and being forced against my right to breathe? No. That’s ridiculous.
Mask mandates aren’t laws! When someone up in the government is telling you to wear one forcibly, THAT IS CONTROL! Why would this virus be so deadly if the government was forcing everyone to wear a mask and get vaccinated in order to take part in society. And before you mention polio, that WAS NEVER MANDATED BACK THEN.
My dad has COPD, and anytime he told someone they acted like he hit the jackpot because its one of the medical exceptions from a mask around here. He'd have to explain that he needed to wear a mask 1000x _more_ because of it. I cant imagine _asthma_ and covid are a good mix

They were in "peak physical condition" until the mask mandates came then they had "significant underlying health conditions". These people just want to be rebels or victims.
Honestly as a band kid hearing the mask thing. They actually made mask for people to play their interments. I have one for my clarinet. Though they are not comfy we can still play our instrument.

Nevermind that in other countries, particularly in Asia, people have worn masks (usually because they themselves are sick and protecting others) forever and it's never killed them... It’s all emotionally charged, it has nothing to do with the facts. There’s been multiple scientific studies done that show evidence that prove wearing a mask has no affect on oxygen saturation in the blood. They’re just a bunch of cry babies who have been scared by Facebook memes to believe that masks cause health risks, or they just want to be a nuisance. They don’t care that a mask stops the spittle traveling from their big mouths onto surfaces and other humans to get them sick. They don’t like it because they’ve been convinced of things like “rebreathing” where you just inhale carbon dioxide over and over, amongst other stupid unfounded medical claims that you can find on websites like parler, Facebook, gab, QAnon, 8chan, whatever. Another reason is that they just want to own the libtardz any way they can. Not wearing masks, spitting on people, spreading disease through this and antivax. They don’t care about first responders that have to deal with the sick, and they don’t care about other Americans. They’re too stupid to think critically.
