I think the reason there are so many alligators in Florida is because that's where they live. Kinda like going to England and wondering why there are so many Brits

I'm an old fart. Although I totally grok the whole "google random date plus 'Florida man/woman' thing," because it's definitely a thing, I grew up learning about ancient homonid fossils referred to by where they were found. "Java Man", "Peking Man", "Neanderthal Man," etc., from back before these fossils were given proper scientific names (some of which have changed since their discoveries) and their and our relationship to each other and our mutual (or not) ancestry were boxed into even the loose and still hotly debated smallish box we have today. Therefore, when I hear the term "Florida Man", I automatically think pre-human caveman discovered in Florida. Which, of course, I "know" is false because the Americas were SUPPOSEDLY settled only a bit over 10Kya by modern humans (despite perhaps questionable evidence of human-ish occupation going back way longer). But still, I've got money on a Homo erectus skull being found in the Americas someday. The Bering Land Bridge was open periodically in his day and he went everywhere else, so why not? And thus, there might actually someday be an archaeological "Florida Man". I'd love to see that. But in the meantime, I must accept memes of meth addicts running around naked and assaulting all they meet instead. Oh well, at least it's funny.

I remember going on Swamp tours in elementary school in Louisiana, we'd all line up to pet a gator with the only protection being two guys wirh big sticks one in front and one in the back, no tape on the mouth or anything and children half in size lined up to pet it on the head, then we got on a boat and watched all the large alligators, venomous snakes and spiders, turtle that can easily chomp a finger and swarms of mosquitoes. I told this to people when I moved to to new England and only did I realize how insane that was.

I too am from the low country, it's funny to see out of state tourist lose their ish over our local wildlife

I swim with them in south Florida. Alligators are not saltwater crocs they respect your personal space if you respect theirs. They eat fish, turtles, frogs, etc

My friend had a chill pet one, about chihuahua sized. He liked chin scritchies. He'd close his eyes, and his mouth would hang open a little as he lifted his head. That's where the wax lips come in. Just put them between his jaws, and they close as he lowers his head. Now you got _this_ running around. 👀 👄 He liked tug of war, too. He'd pull for a bit, but then he'd splay out on the ground, so you could drag him around. Little arms and legs held high, like he was going 'wheeeeeeeee!'

Under 5 feet, they're pretty much just temperamental dogs.

Gators is the best, and possibly most natural, opener to any Florida Man series. I'd reckon it would've won a vote! That or meth, but I feel meth is going to be a recurring character over the weeks/months so probably doesn't need it's own episode... But Florida Man has had some wild burglary adventures!

I mean there was an attempted robbery/burglary at a Wendy’s involving a gator. That could make a pretty good crossover. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Was at Kennedy space center some years ago, did an bus trip around the pads and at one of the SpaceX pad it was an alligator in an dam for used cooling water. They have fences who curves inward as alligators can climb fences, going to the pads you need to use an car or buss, no bikes or motorbikes.

@@Tedinator01 most states, underage drinking is highly illegal. there are a few exceptions, and usually they involve religious services and practices, and supervision of a parent or guardian. i'm not aware of a single state where a "minor" on their own can drink anything alcoholic.

@@ThatWriterKevin I cant find the comic to save my life right now, but awhile back on 1 of the "Florida man headlines as comics" articles, i saw 1 that features "super hero" florida man fly towards a hurricane screaming "FITE ME HURRICANE!!!" and it may or not have ended in a tombstone. Headline was something like "florida man tries to fight hurricane" It was my favorite comic, folowed closely by "florida man too fat for jail" and "Florida Man kills roommate over missing corndog"

Correction: the Northern Territory is to Australia what Florida is to America. Don't be tarring all of Australia with your Florida brush... The land masses are the same size (more or less, continental USA is a tad larger) and we don't have crocks in the southern ⅔ of AU. They're concentrated in north QLD, north WA, and the NT. Coincidentally, that's also where all our craziest people live. Kinda like Florida. It's gotta be the extreme heat right?

@@tealkerberus748 I live in the south west of QLD, a few hours directly north from approx the centre of the NSW border. It gets plenty hot here, we're not dissimilar to Louisiana in regard to weather. It also gets cold in winter here (the global norths summer) but not cold enough to snow, that'd be fkn miserable. I gotta have one season more mild than the other. I can't do a blistering summer and then a 'snowing' freezing winter. Anywhere the weather gives you maximum extremes doesn't sound like a great place to live to me.

@@mikepierson7447 I figured that. I've only been here for 10 years now. TLDR: I got booked when i was pulling out of Pine Manor in Fort Myers FL. I took a good mugshot when they found me with a eight of weed. 500$ and a promise to not get in trouble for a year or accept the full charges. No probation or checkups. I only got put through processing imo is because they had 5~ cars on me. Thats the short story.
