I did it! Let me give some advice to those that want to pass. I took the test and after the first hour I knew I failed the test. I took a break and came back and said, 'I'm gonna pass this test'. I read each question carefully and made sure I understood the question clearly. I then studied each answer choice and on some I narrowed it down to 2 very similar answers and carefully picked the best one. On the math, I worked backwards using each answer choice. When the dust settled, I have 20 min. left and I knew I passed the test on the first try. Hope this helps someone. Cheers.
Thanks for commenting. I'm glad that tip helped. It's one of those secrets that in plain sight. It's a secret because many instructors don't tell their students. (Many instructors don't even know about it!) But it's in plain sight. It's published by the Division of Real Estate and available to anyone.
Having a plan when taking the test: 1. answer the easy questions 2. answer the questions that require more thought 3. save the math for last. I absolutely love this advice. Thank you so much. I will apply this strategy going forward as I continue to take practice exams.

Watching all Karen's videos was the best thing I could have done. I just passed my exam on the first try....much to my surprise, lol! I noticed that A LOT of what Karen taught in the math videos was ON THE TEST. I am a "Humanities only" person - high school English and Drama teacher, so everything on this exam was completely foreign to me and outside my comfort zone and natural area of knowledge. However, studying like crazy and then watching Karen must have done the trick! Thank you! Also - Karen, I literally ran out of time because of the 103 not 100 questions thing. Yes, I was that person. I tutor the SAT and know the value of "every point counts," and I teach high-achieving kids to literally underline what they want their brain to focus on. So, in order to not make any stupid mistakes, and because I know that computer-based tests allow more room for mistakes than paper tests, I actually wrote notes/summarized/paraphrased each of the questions and the answers on the notepad. This was the best way for me not to make any careless mistakes and verify 100% that I did not misunderstand, misread, or miss anything. I think this helped immensely, but obviously, not everyone has that kind of patience!!

I arrived 30 minutes early to the test site, googling up a storm realizing I was too busy learning the material but did not look up test-taking strategy. Excellent advice. I’ve been licensed in another state since 1992. Now getting ready for Florida. If you are new to real estate and getting your first license, this IS how to do it!
I followed these tips two years ago & passed the exam on my first try! (I let my license enter null and void) so now i have to do it all over again. But thank God for this video reminded me what I did to pass it & im confident ill do it again first shot! Thank you Karen, i also bought you audio tapes, im reviewing those day & night now!
To people who are discourage please read thisI just pass my class exam. For the third time. To me it was so difficult a lot of people on my class pass . And the ones who fail pass them 2 time. It took me 3 classes in order to pass the class exam. I finally passed it. But I am not giving up. I will take the estate exam. And once I pass I will kill it. I know myself

Thanks for the tips! Knowing that different chapters are going to be more thoroughly questioned will not only help my studying but also help me not take an excessive amount of notes on less heavily questioned chapters!!
Thanks will do, been taking the classes online due to schedule restraints. Regretting not signing up for a class now because its taking so long to get through it. I am too easily distracted.
A lot of people take way too long with the online class. Schedule time to do it, just the way you would if it was a face-to-face class. It can be short chunks - maybe two hours in the morning, two in the evening - or whatever works for you and your schedule. But put it on the calendar and treat that time the way you would any other important commitment. I know this is easier said than done, but too many don't do this and six months later they are still trying to finish the online class. Good luck. Let me know if I can help in any way.
I have taken the florida real estate exam 6 times and I had to take a break from it. I am getting back into studying and I am determined to pass this exam. I hope your tips will help me.
Thank you, Karen - I found that tip #3 made me feel more relaxed about the exam - I don't have to worry that I won't finish in time, which gives me confidence that I can take the time to really read the questions and understand which answer is the BEST one - because sometimes, if I'm going to fast, the wrong one looks like it should would be correct, but it isn't!!
Do a few practice tests in test conditions before the exam. Give yourself three hours, no interruptions, quiet place, just like the state exam. That will give you a good idea of the time situation, and how long it will take you. Good luck on the exam!

Ms. Climer you are absolutely amazing!! I found your videos late last night 6/17/21, as I crammed to study for the Florida Real Estate Exam. I was up really late because I had a 730am appt to take the exam today 6/18/21 & I passed my very first time. Though I've been studying for a while I honestly feel like the tips/advice I received from you largely contributed to my successful completion of the exam. I literally found your videos the night before my exam, and sure enough your math example videos were on par!! Sorta wish I took you class from the beginning...lol...I took a boring online course, so if anyone has the privilege...take her course!!

The night before the test, I rewatched your videos, paused, did the math before seeing you do them. You are right!!! On the actual test, math was the easiest and I am sure I scored 10/10 in Math. Thank you for this video. The A-ha moment for me was to treat the "Which one is False" questions as though each answer is a true/false question. I feel like my brain is trying to think in reverse when I answer those! You make a lot of sense. Thanks again. I take the test tomorrow. This video also gave me some confidence.

Can I just say "THANK YOU".. your videos were super helpful. The best take away for me was using the math "answers" (a,b,c,d) of the questions and working backwards! BRILLIANT! Took me a little bit longer but 100% worked! I used this today and totally passed the test! You are the BEST!
Karen--I soo appreciate your time in sharing/posting this great info. All the tips were really helpful. I took my test last week and failed. I felt confident in taking it but obviously that didn't show in the failing grade I received. Definitely bummed me out. I'm going to review the math again (my weakness) and watch your videos on it. I'm also going to review your chapters with the largest % of info that I'll be tested on. Trying to build up my confidence again. Definitely takes a mental toll on you when you don't pass the 1st time.
This was awesome. I took the test 3 times and got discouraged but they way you explained it seems to be better for me. SO I know the chapters that I really need to study. Time also was my problem I started to notice that I was finish way before the people who were there before me

Many thanks Karen for your Tips I am taking the Real Estate Express online course for the Florida exam and I’m over 32% completed and I watch your videos in my spare time to break up the monotony (lol). I am striving to be completed in a week or so and want to take the test while everything is fresh in my head very shortly afterwards but do not want to rush either.
I think this was an interesting video and the tips are good. I think the best was how many questions are from each chapter. Knowing the amount of time to spend on each chapter gave me more focus and saved some needless time on less important information.
