She sounds really naive. Those tied down outdoor furniture might as well be considered gone and potential havoc wreckers. Food supply situation is going to be worse once the storm passes. They're in for a bad situation.
obviously she isn't gonna see your comment. try to actually reach out to her if you care that badly. She and her husband should be charged with child endangerment. really sticking to that floridian stereotype of no intel.
deal with traffic? did you miss the part of "no gas"? Where is she going to go trying to leave without gas in the car? Even if some part of the tank is full, I have heard people getting stuck in traffic trying to get out and burning lots of gas in the process.
@OompaLoompa74 the fear of possibly getting stuck on the road or having no gas or whatever stinkin reason isn’t a good enough excuse for not at least trying to evacuate. She is young at 28 years old and is completely able to handle all of the inconveniences. For goodness sake she has 3 young kids including a small baby! Also the risk of not evacuating is actual death?? So foolish
Less gas stations and "too much traffic" is not an excuse to hunker down in a hurricane with three children. Go as far as you can in your own vehicle, get ubers, hitch rides from good samaritans, do whatever you have to do to get your kids OUT OF THERE. I think this family is going to regret this decision very quickly and we may never hear from them ever again. Hopefully not the case.
@@John-ne4fqstorm has become so strong there considering adding a new category 6 to describe it. What in "not seen in 100 years" did you not understand?
Seriously!!! And what’s with trying to strap down that patio furniture! What do you think the surge is going to do leave it there because you politely strapped it down?!??
@@CASH-THE-NERDprecisely. The storm surge is what makes these hurricanes so dangerous. Insane winds, plus buckets of rain, then the ocean comes knocking on your door.
Authorities NEED to take those children away and tell the parents they can stay there if they want. But forcing your children to stay there and drown is horrific. Please someone get those children’s to safety.
@@ge2623yes, some people can't leave. Disabled people can't leave, the homeless can't leave, inmates can't leave, elderly people can't leave, and those in hospice can't leave. Do you get the point?
@@Thedarkestblackisstillblue Disabled people can't leave, but they can drive. Get a job and don't be homeless. Don't do stuff that puts you in jail. Being old means your immoble. Hospice. They could if we had proper healthcare like the rest of the civilized world. I get the point.
I live in upstate South Carolina. We just experienced hurricane Helene. My town was messed up so badly and unexpectedly. Everyone underestimated it… Now that woman in Florida deciding to stay is crazy… I can’t imagine what’s the worse that can happen to her family. I pray everyone in Florida stays safe!
I’m in Fort Myers right now. I’m disappointed in how many people I saw hoarding supplies. I saw trucks parked at the same pump for 20mins filling every fuel drum possible. Gas sold out most places by end of day Monday. People need to stop panicking and being selfish. That’s the problem, not just the Hurricane.
@@mishstats she gave up cause it’s hard to find gas. She should take taxis with her family or hitch rides then. Simple as that. And even beyond the flooding that’ll make all of her preparation pointless, she only has foods that’ll last a week or two. If it’s as bad as they say she should have food for at least a months worth, and the fact she has no canned food is just… It should be all canned food.
Please, please evacuate. Hurricane Milton is predicted to be the worst and deadliest ever. Please leave 🙏🏼. Your house will not survive this force of nature : Tornadoes, storm surge 10 - 20 feet high flooding, wind speeds of 135 - 175+ mph... DISASTER...LEAVE ! NOW ! And please take your pets with you 🙏🏼. Prayers for all Floridaians.
Please do an update with this family if possible. They're all going to be terrified, I'm sure, but those poor kids especially. Isn't there anyone who can help them get out?
@@jenniferhansen3622Me too. Even if they make it through the storm, that food supply isn't going to last long at all. I sure hope they have more than what's shown.
Even if the house miraculously pulls through and family is safe its going to be a nightmare trying to get help should they need it. Like emergency services, power, blocked roads, even cell service
@@GeminiladyJackson-xq6hc She and her husband should be charged with child endangerment. also, why does she think metal sheets will stop floor water?? wth?
All her foods and baby formula would get wet if the flood water came into their house. I doubt the metal boarding of their windows would be water-proof.
I live in Sarasota, I had my home destroyed by only 3 feet of storm surge from Helene, I told my mom once Milton was directed to hit that area, to evacuate. It’s not worth staying put. We just got a new rental home a bit further inland Sarasota but still not worth staying for a risk of storm surge and or wind destruction.
That silly lady tying down the chairs like they will still be there after the storm. Insane risk by staying with young children. I can see if it was just adults, maybe - even then is a small chance of being safe - but staying with babies is insane.
Please use your common sense and evacuate for the sake of you and your family. It is illogical to assume you can survive a Category 5 Hurricane by staying put!
Flooding should be her biggest concern. It's generally the flooding that is the biggest issue, aside from electricity loss and emergency crews not being able to get to you.
I watched another interview today about a one legged man who will be hunkering down in his tiny boat. I'm shocked. I've always assumed Floridians, more than anyone else, would know what to and what not to do, during a hurricane. Praying for that young family, especially for the children who didn't choose this.
I don’t think that lady is thinking right, she’s preparing for a baby hurricane? Those flimsy window covers won’t last in the over 150mph winds especially with their shape and that tied down furniture will be flipped and carried away by the 9-15ft of storm surge- it does mean the water will get near the ceiling at the least or completely inundate above the first floor and it looks like she only has a single storey home if her master bedroom is on the first floor. Would prefer to run, at the very least inland, away from all the waterways and the sea, with her kids. Get anywhere, even a church would do, on higher ground.
@@tracelee7332 Is it? Kids aren't in the position to make those decisions. They're kids. And I'm sick of people crying "What a tragedy" A tragedy is something unavoidable. A death from stupidity is not.
Each year they get stronger and stronger. The most recent one here in Texas about took us out. The weather is truly changing even thought we don’t want to understand.
I from New Jersey and we almost don't get major storms . But this is crazy . I hope everyone is able to find safe place to stay .Have plenty of food and water .
Have you forgotten Gloria? Forced evac of barrier islands. I worked swing shift in casino. My daughter called shift manager and demanded they send me home. We were at future MIL house for 6 days. Needed proof of residency to get back on island. I now live 11 miles inland from Flagler Beach.
I really wish that family at the end would've found some way to leave. If it were just her and her husband that would've been one thing, but she has babies.
They do evacuate based on zones, however due to floridas unique geography all 23 million people have only 2 highways leaving the state. So it’s gets crowded quick, most people who evacuate just go to Orlando as it’s safe from the storm surge.
I don’t know… Why have they not shut down - or reduced the lanes, on the southbound highway? Open up more lanes so people can get moving… They’re wasting what fuel they do have, in that friggin lineup -where they’ll all be projectiles if they’re not able to get through. I can understand her feeling, well…frightened…desperate…w/‘home’ identifying as your *safe space* - But for heaven sake, pull a wagon, hitchhike, carpool, ride someone’s horse… Get OUT. Being told to identify yourself(& your NOK contact info), with a sharpie on your arm (and presumably, on the arms of those precious children) should tell her that the risk is too high. Freedom… SMH Choose to live, to be free tomorrow(next week/whenever the storm has passed)- and be prepared for the next one - because they’re coming. Godspeed to those trying to escape… A strangers prayers could help, you would be on wings. Good luck to you all.🙏🏼🤲🏼🧎♀📿😢💔💔😢
This woman doesn't understand there will be no medical help someone gets really hurt it could end up dying in agony and pain while others watch the injuries on a body after that if you survive could be horrible this poor babies. She strapped furniture woman semi trucks will be flying!!!! This woman is sick. Didn't have time to tank car but had time to do full face of makeup .....
Not taking heed and brushing off the major signs given to you will be the result of your own destruction. God bless those innocent children for they don’t know what’s ahead. 😢
I pray that this woman and her family will be safe when the storm is over. She’s take a HUGE risk of staying at home when the hurricane just today, shifted towards the south, towards Sarasota and Port Charles.
That women bothers the hell out of me, you knew FOREVER ago about this. It’s all over everyone’s page, dont play that. You’re lazy and wanted camera time. How about you stay and the kids go to the local PD. Tell them your plan.
