I have done over 100 Mill Hill kits. Mostly the pictures. I started doing them 11 years ago. They are a little different then using fabric and they have become my favorite type of stitching as they are very unique when they are completed. One of the things that may help you with the paper is making a stitching frame. This helped me a lot. I got Edmunds 9" X 1/2" stretcher bars to make a square. A sheet of stiff felt, and tacks to secure the felt on the stretcher bars. After you assemble the stretcher bars, cut a piece of the felt to fit the frame. Find the center of the felt and cut out a 5" square (or an opening size that works for you). Attach the felt to the frame using the tacks. Place your paper over the opening so that the edges are laying on the felt evenly and the back is open for stitching. Hand sew the paper to the felt to secure it. I sew the 4 corners first and a 1" area in the middle of each side. The frame allows for a bigger area to handle and you won't be curling the paper. I made a smaller frame for the ornaments using 7" stretcher bars. Once done, cut the thread that is holding the paper in place, and leave the frame as is for your next project. I also use a K's Creation lap stand with a clamp to hold the frame, as I tend to get neck pain if I hold the frame in my hands. I have some organizing steps/tools I use while I am making these project. Let me know if you have any questions. Also, be patient with yourself and you will do fine. You may learn to enjoy them as I have.

I make a Mill Hill ornament on the perforated paper every year for my mother. It always looks great when finished, but I’d much rather be stitching on a full-coverage piece. Hang in there! It’s got to get better soon! 🌹

I have some Mill Hills. I’ve never stitched one so you’re way ahead of me. You can do this. I love you. ♥️

I personally love perforated paper (except I wash my hands a lot to stop it getting dirty). It's the beads that are a pain - threading the beading needle and my beading needle always ends up bent! I love the results though. Currently stitching Mill Hill Xmas kits for presents. X

The stress comes from having too much to do and not being able to get to your stitches stuff. That happens to me no, I’m no expert but when you can’t get to your Crosstitch because there’s so many household things to do and other people to look after all the time it’s enough to drive you nuts and make you stressed out.😅
