Flosstube #1 - 2024 Intro, WIPs, and WIPs in waiting! 

First time nerves is normal. The key to overcome this is to allow the energy for what you love to do take over and pretend the camera is your outlet for encouraging someone to jump in the cross stitch world. JUST DO IT..WE ARE ALL HERE...

You did a great job! Your setup and lighting are fine. Even your audio is clear. You don’t have any of the habits the make me need to stop watching (like waving patterns around, talking in singsong, constant giggling, and slurping drinks). Girl, you’re actually good at Flosstube and I’m looking forward to the next one 🥰

I’m in Central Arkansas too (Little Rock)! Surly you’ve been to the Shepherds Needle on W. Markham…. LOVE LOVE LOVE that shop💖I’ve been thinking about doing a floss tube as well but I’ve just started back into cross stitch (did it in my teenage yrs and early 20’s, now 55) so I don’t have any finished projects and only a few wips, but I am a longarm quilter with lots of other hobbies. I worked at Pinwheel Fabrics in Bryant for 13 yrs until Nov 2020…. Had to quit due to an unexpected major surgery. I also do crochet (just learned how), hand embroidery, quilting, wool appliqué, machine embroidery and now cross stitch. Yes it’s an addiction. Great to see ya on floss tube.

The coverage looked perfectly fine on camera, and will look even better when hanging on the wall. (I'd never noticed that adorable spotted pig!) Looking forward to #2...

Don't just "settle" on the Long Dog piece. It will be so much work and beautiful that you really should stitch it on fabric you like.

I do love the piece, and I'm certainly a fan of samplers with 100s of motifs, (I'm talking to you, Consider the Lilies! 😁) but this one has 100% chance of counting mistakes. But as long as you don't stress out that the 2 miles of back-stitch vines might not align exactly as charted, you'll be fine! It will definitely be worth it when it's finished! Your projects are different from what is commonly seen on flosstube's channels, that's nice, you have a great taste ! The long dog sampler is absolutely stunning as well as the lady with the unicorn, but also the smaller projects are interesting! Thank you for doing this video and have a nice day !

Your video was peaceful, and in saying that, it means you had the motivation to create/upload one! I think you did great for a first time Floss Tube. I've been watching Floss Tube since at least 2016 and I still have no desire to do my own Floss Tube. I love many of the projects you're working on and wanting to start so look forward to your updates.

You did a great job on your first fosstube. I'm sure it will take a few times to feel more at ease doing them. I am from southwest Arkansas so it was good to see a "local" stitcher. I think we all wish there were more hours in a day and we didn't require sleep so we could stitch more! I will be looking forward to video #2! Teresa

The noises aren't that bad!!!! You can't avoid zipper noises. As long as you don't open the zipper right next to the microphone, it's fine!!!

I’m stitching the Lady And The Unicorn from Thea Gouverneur too! It seems like you have and older kit, because the newer released kits have a tomato red fabric. Also, I am stitching it one floss thread over one fabric thread (on the kit fabric), and I’m loving the result. I believe the kit says to use one thread over two, but I prefer a strong coverage and I actually really enjoy stitching one over one. Maybe you mention it in the video, but I haven’t finished watching yet, but have you stitched one over one before? It’s not hard, but you do need to watch how the threads lay, cause you can otherwise pull a floss thread underneath a fabric thread.

You did a great job!! I guess the best advice I can give you on Inspiration is to stitch it in sections. Its not a fast stitch but very doable.

I can only find it on 27 Jobelin which I’ve never stitched on, is your kit definitely on Aida? Don’t worry about the noise and don’t feel you have to apologise for things. You don’t want to encourage any ‘cross stitch police ‘ to watch your channel anyway!😂 Just enjoy documenting your stitching and the kind stitchers will find you. You’re doing great, it takes a little time to feel comfortable. I’m a retired community college faculty and I’d suggest you make a loose outline of what you want to cover., if you aren’t already doing that. I taught for 30 years and had a class outline under the last lecture. That helps you remember all the content you want to include.
