Hi Carla, I used to do HAEDs, but the CEO was rough with me over a question about the software they used. So I had her delete my account. However, I've been creating my own confetti heavy designs since the early 2000s. Alas, tho, it's more work. I am very slow and I'm told I need to develop my design style to make me stand out more. Always complimented on how talented I am tho. But, alas, I'm too lazy for that. I made more money in engineering anyway. I find that the tent stitch is twice as fast as full cross, especially if there is confetti. I'm very pleased to see confetti heavy designs become so popular. HAED has a genius for a CEO. She's just too full of herself.

I want to start a haed but I can't figure out how to know how much canvas I need

Hi Brittany, just put the number of stitches Height and Width of the design into this calculator and it will tell you the canvas size you need. www.fatquartershop.com/cross-stitch-calculator

What if the color is more than one row down? Do you end the thread or just jump down the needed rows? I'm wanting to try your parking method but there's still some things I'm confused about. Also what if a color you need on the right side of the fabric is parked all the way on the left, do you get out a new thread?

Hi Lakota, I always start a new thread if there is too much of a jump. Also working down I will do the stitches on the row below if it is easy enough to see them (which will only be if there are not too many parked strands.) @@TheStitchyWitch I've been watching so many different parking method videos. Parking just seems so intimidating, but I make so many mistakes doing cross country even with a grid
