Welcome! You're from NH! This is the year for NH stitchers on flosstube. The smartest thing you did was buy the companion piece now while it's available rather than later when it might not be available! It doesn't matter how many colors, you are just doing one stitch at a time. Brilliant idea!!!! BTW, " an average stitcher" would not even think to change the chart to their liking and add a dragon! You go girl!!!!
One more thing with large projects. Remember they are just like the small ones and are stitched the same. One stitch at a time ❤️. Don’t worry about the size of the fabric, just one stitch at a time and progress is progress no matter the number of stitches you put in ❤️
Hello from Tennessee! I completely understand having nobody to talk stitching to! My hubby is a great listener, but it's not the same. Enjoyed your flosstube. Thank you. Love all the geeky things....we are very much alike.❤
I am not a fan of head, but I adore the Beloved image. And now, thanks to your video, I've just discovered the second head I love, Day and Night. It is true, my fav colour is green, but the image in itself is spectacular. Can't wait to see your progress on it!
Loved this video!!! I'm pretty nerdy too. My family is HUGE Star WArs fans, but also LOTR too. That door is awesome with glow in the dark thread because that is how the door should be!!! Loved the pic to pat of the anchor. Can't wait to see more.
Congratulations on your 1st flosstube, I really enjoyed it and think that your a natural. Love all your wips and I too love the Pern books 📚 also love Eragon. Anyways so glad your husband talked you into making a flosstube channel...please thank him for me. I have subscribed and rang the bell 🔔. Im looking forward to your next update already. 🥰
Great first video! Welcome to Flosstube! For your Adele Sessler piece, I would check to see if the fabric is cut straight on the edge. Sometimes they’re not cut along the weave of the fabric, so compared to your stitching, which DOES follow the weave of the fabric, it looks crooked.
Great first video. You have some fabulous pieces on the go. I understand what you mean about no "real" friends to share our hobby with. Now you have the FT community! Please keep coming back. Steph from NJ
I’m a huge Mirabilliafan, love the beads and crystals in their designs. I shall check out the Heaven and Earth designs, but my eye sight is so bad now even with a magnifier that I tend to do more knitting these days. I’ve 2 Teresa Wentzler on the go, love the little bits of hardsnger and mosaic stitches she had in some of her designs. Thank you for sharing, great job.
Loving all your projects. I'm amazed at how wonderful they look on the 25 or 28 count. Reminding myself I want to try 20 ct and who knows maybe I can get to 25 or 28. I love easy grid fabric. It makes a detailed pattern so much easier.
The one you think is not straight, it could be the fabric cut crooked. Measure to the top of your fabric from both ends of your stitched top line. Congratulations on your first flosstube.
Omg the Alien one!! I’m such an Alien fan, I have the Queen tattooed on my leg. I’m new to cross-stitch but I fully plan to do an alien one! Right now I’m working on The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, then the Black Beast of Arrrgggghh to round out my Month Python and wall 😂
What a fun, eclectic bunch of wips. The alien with the cat made me laugh. I love sci-fi and fantasy books, too. I hadn't seen that Pern pattern before. I look forward to seeing your next update video.
Some really lovely and unique pieces you have. Intrigued into how you will proceed. Found your WIP parade on RU-vid search. Small goals sometimes help if a project seems unmanageable but listen to your gut.
Welcome to flosstube. You did a fantastic video for your first video. I know mine was allot worse. Even now mine aren't as good. Lol. I must be a nerd as well as I loved allot of your projects. The Stargate piece I can't wait to see your progress. I personally think the mini's will be amazing. I love mini's and find there is enough details. I have Mini Bitter Half. I think it is same artist. As for the piece you think is going on an angle. I think the stitching is straight but it isn't cut straight. What I do when cutting fabric is pull one of the fabric threads from the fabric all across and then cut along that line. You could do that at the edge to see if straight. Then cut and re sew the edge. Hope that makes sense. Can't wait to your next video.Thank you for sharing. It is great to see someone else doing full coverage.
Welcome to flosstube! Great first video! Love all your wips. I do mainly full coverage & love it. I'm looking forward to watching your progress. Have a great week. Much love ❤
Welcome to Flosstube!! Love the Alien movies too, and I really want get your Alien Project - another to add to the pile 😀 Like CJStitches said, just do one stitch at a time and don't worry about size! I enjoy full coverage pieces myself. You and I like a lot of the same things so you're fast becoming my favorite Flosstuber!! If you want to give away the map, I'm interested! Just let me know how to message you so we can talk! I can't wait to see your next video, you're doing a fabulous job!!
So happy I found you! Your stitches are so interesting and are opening up another realm of cross stitch I am unfamiliar with! Been getting tired of seeing many of the same patterns...keep stitching n sharing with us!
Congrats on your first flosstube! You have some beautiful and fun pieces in the works! I am going to be starting the middle earth map piece sometime soon, but I am planning on stitching it on 32 ct easy count, both to make the finished piece a little smaller (my go to is 28 ct) and because I haven't stitched on 32 ct yet and wanted to try. I hope your stargate turns out. I have always loved the original movie (though I haven't seen the series). Can't wait to see your kit parade! Happy stitching!
I really enjoyed your first flosstube, great job! I enjoyed the variety of your projects. A friend and I always enjoy seeing projects that we haven't seen before. I loved the Stargate piece and want to see how it turns out.
Hi Kristen! I enjoyed your first video. I haven’t tried a full coverage project yet so was very interested in the patterns you chose. I would love to see some of your previously finished pieces in your next video!
Thank you very much! I was actually going to show what finishes I have, sadly none of those are full coverage. I have too many wips to be able to get one done!
Welcome to Flosstube! Love all of your nerdy projects, especially the Lord of the Rings ones. The Pern series was one of my FAVs when I was younger, and I still love dragons and stitching dragons! I wouldn't downplay your stitching. I don't think this hobby is about being good at it or not. I hope no one has said anything to make you feel like that! Just enjoy making your Xs. Thanks for sharing!
Loved your #1 please thank you husband for encouraging you. The TARDIS will look great when finished, we should always look from a distance, like when things are on the wall, to see the effect, rather than the distance we stitch at, helps to feel more positive about our "work". Love the Pern series too, nice to see that chart. I would have done it 40 years ago, but have too high a to do pile and am not getting any younger! Look forward to seeing your next FT down here.
I checked out video because of your thumbnail, I have been wanting to do the alien piece myself but you know how the ever I want to stitch list keeps on growing. But I digress, you progress on it is amazing!!! I love it and she is totally just petting the kitty I'm so glad stumbled on your channel because I am absolutely LOVING your choice of projects!!!!! im going to be looking into a few of your projects and add even more to that ever growing stitch list, the tardis and hellfire club to name a couple that stargate is going to be rad! I love your fabric too! awesome job oooooooooooooooooooooh glow in the dark lord of the rings door! brilliant!!!!!! if you don't give away your biggie maybe setting a small goal of working on it a tiny bit each day? 100 stitches, or 1 hour? if you end up letting it go ill gladly throw my name in the hat! What im trying to say is fantastic first video!
@@youraveragecrossstitcher6543 im glad the map found a good home! i think that might be the same one that jamie from cross stitch and chill is doing. i think she fought with hers a bit too. I can't wait to see the new alien pattern!
We’ll done on your 1st video. Your Tardis looks great. I think the squares add to the overall impression of space. I’d been wanting to see your Mirabilia pattern stitched up and it looks beautiful - I think I may have a go at that one. Your wip that looks wonky - it would be a shame to start again after all the work you’ve put in. Try putting a mount over the corner to see if it’s just an illusion. It could be that it’s your edging line that’s slightly out. Remember cross stitch gets stretched when it’s mounted - some of mine have been very peculiar shapes before the framer has got hold of them 😂😂. Happy cross stitching. I’m looking forward to seeing your progress.
So good to meet you. You tube recommended you❤️. So glad it did. Your first video ❤️. You did an amazing job and you didn’t come across as nervous ❤️. Love your wips and look forward to watching your progress on them. I hope you have an amazing couple of weeks, stay safe and happy stitching ❤️
Enjoyed your first video! Great variety of projects- I loved the Pern books, the Alien movie franchise (which I hope they continue) but I've only seen the Stargate movie. Your fabric might not have been cut straight thus making your stitching look crooked. I always strip off the little stray threads on the edges until I hit one that runs all the way across or you could do a running stitch outer border making sure you are going straight with the weave as if you are gridding. As for your Middle Earth project, I know the Suki, the brown eyed stitcher, has that as one of her wips as does Cross Stich and Chill. In case you wanted support. Take care and thanks for sharing.
Love all your WIPS. On your Hold True piece, you should be fine because you can block it when you're done and framing can adjust it too. If you did your edges with your sewing machine, the fabric piece itself could have been cut wrong and is crooked. So when you went around it, your stitching is straight, causing your cross stitch to look crooked when it's not. Hope that makes sense.
I finished the hobbit door last year and I loved it! Love your channel it’s been hard to find flosstube channels that are nerdy like me! My the mines of Moria and stargate Anubis symbol are on my Qsnaps now
So great to meet you! I am trying to start a HAED...can't find coverage I'm happy with. Started with 28 count, but fabric not big enough. Moved to 25 count easy grid and started 2x1 and it's too bunched together. Starting it again 1x1 and crossing my fingers.
I enjoyed watching your Floss Tube. The patterns you're working on are interesting, and you had a good flow and pace with showing your WIP's. I'm interested in watching more updates, please don't let your nerves (which I didn't notice) stop you from posting again!
I have bought mini day night too, yours looks good the detail looks fine to me. I started a geckorouge on 18 count and it’s very blurry and pixelated which has put me off it, though it cost enough so will finish despite it being confetti hell 😅 love all your wips, some somewhat different from the usual but hey, that’s great.. it’s interesting to see what appeals to others isn’t it. I enjoyed your video ❤
Welcome! Your crooked image may be that the edges of the fabric are crooked. Try a grid line across the top and it will probably be parallel to your stitching!
Welcome 🖐 I absolutely love the alien, and beauty and the beast, full coverage is my favourite, your taste is very similar to my own, anything geeky I love ❤️ I think you did great for a first video, I can't give you any tips as I'm terrible and if I fudge something I just carry on 🤣 but the one that you said looks wonky to me it looks straight so could just be playing on your eyes
I enjoyed your video. I loved the Alien movies, Stargate, and The Dragon Riders of Pern series which I read about 40 years ago. Have you seen the Violet Stitcher's Ann Stokes dragon HAED? It's gorgeous.
Hey a fellow New Hampsherian! 😄 I live in Norway now but grew up there and visit family now and then. What part are you in? No need to say if you don’t want it in the internet 😊 I’m a LOTR fan too (I showed a book collection in my last video!) I love the Love and Valor piece! Me and some others are starting a Rivendell pattern Home in the Mountains in Feb 😊
RU-vid is embedding ads every 7 minutes in your video. When watching on television, if you skip ads, video starts over. I’d like to see rest of your projects, but can’t stand the ads
