Flosstube #1 My first cross stitch and spring fun 

What a great first video! I'm amazed at how quickly you have tried so many different types of fabrics. For your reference, Zweigart is a linen manufacturer. They have given each of the fabric counts a name, and then they have a colour name. So 28 ct is called Cashel, 32 CT is Belfast, 36 ct is Edinburgh and 40 ct is Newcastle. So if you have a fabric identified as Newcastle Platinum, then you know it is made by Zweigart and the colour is Platinum and it's a 40 count fabric. Zweigart linens seem to have the best reputation for being a nice linen to work with. Wichelt also makes fabrics and I believe they are a slightly stiffer linen. It all comes down to your own preference. Your project bags are beautiful.

I love all animals too! We have had dogs, still have 3; mice, Guinea pigs and a couple of rats. Several years ago my son and I went to PetSmart to get Timothy hay for our 2 Guinea pigs and saw another Guinea pig with white and grey patches and fell in love with him! So we brought him home and named him Patches. My husband said we already have 2 Guinea pigs you need to take him back. I said well I’m not going too!! And he said well does he need his own cage? I said yes and he said well we better go and get one!! He is such a softie!!! I would love to have gots and chickens and a miniature donkey!!! Lol I’m so glad I found your RU-vid channel! I subscribed! I really enjoyed your video! 😊I really like getting all of the pieces together and stitching and watching the pattern come alive! Love Harvey the duck! Adorable! 🥰

Sheila, what an enjoyable visit! I am SO impressed at all your finishes and your WIPS. I’d love to know more about your farm and the life in Minnesota. We live on a small ranch in Texas and have cows…..and cats!!! We are senior, senior folks and love living in the country. We lived in Austin for 45 years and most of that was great, but life in a big city is no longer for us. Right now I just crossstitch. I’ve done needlepoint, crossstitch in the 80s, quilting and now flosstube crossstitch, which is so different than the earlier stitching I did. I love flosstubes, and I followed Sarah’s recommendation to watch your flosstube and it was a great tip! I look forward to your next visit. Carol in Texas

My favorite part is after I have everything gathered and the project started, I just love the stitching. I don't enjoy the finishing, but I do it so I can display or give away the pieces. Welcome to FlossTube! Great first video! I cannot believe you’ve only been stitching since November!! We lived in Minnesota for 10 years in the early 2000’s. I loved Stitchville!! It was a trek from where we lived so I didn’t go often but it was always a treat. My favorite part of stitching is the stitching and I’m guilty of having projects that need FFO’ed in a drawer 😊

Wow! Are you a fast stitcher? Everything looks perfect even though you said there were mistakes. I can't believe you get so much done & farm chores too. My daughter crochets Amigarumi's. She is working on a book of 30 or so historical women. I like gathering all the materials the most, so I'm a kit-er. But I like the process, too. I only started cross stitching during the pandemic. But I am a very slow stitcher.

Love your video, you did a great job. I love big projects and full coverage. My favorite designer was Paula Vaughn. I do it all cross stitch, crochet, knitting, embroidery, sewing etc. I think I love counted cross stitch because I always wished I could paint pictures and this is the closest you can get to that. Blank canvas that turns into a picture in front of your eyes.

Hi Sheila, Congratulations on your first Flosstube. I am definitely a process stitcher and I have a drawer full of stitches to prove it. 😅. I set a goal to have 12 pieces framed this year and 12 mini’s fully finished. I don’t know why I avoid fully finishing things.

Well hello! Loved your story about sneaking your rabbit in your house. When my mom was growing up she walked past a pet store every day on her to and from school. One day she stopped in a bought two ducklings! When she got home my Granny got a pool and learned how to take care of them. If you knew my Granny you would be very surprised to hear that! When the ducks grew up they became too noisy for suburban life so they were taken to the city park pond where they lived happily ever after. I grew up with dogs, rabbits and gerbils. As an adult, the second I discovered I was no longer allergic to cats, I got a kitten. He now lives (tolerantly) with my sweet lab. I loved seeing your bags and was so sad to see that they were all sold - but not surprised. I think my favorite was the girl on the bicycle. Looking forward to another flosstube. Happy Easter!

I enjoyed listening to you. I heard about you from The Seattle Stitcher. You are definitely hooked on cross stitch. It took me 2 years to get up to 20 WIPS. I started stitching in Fall 2021 after watching crazybandladystitches Flosstube. I am a 1990 graduate too and if I would have got interested in sewing I would be making cool things. I'm happy just stitching for now though. I think it's great how you make the project bags. Total win! Love the duck!

Great floss tube and love tangents. Sarahs stitchy spot said come check you out, glad she did!40 ct! Wow bee stitching since 80s and highest I have tried is 36 my go to is 32. You go girl❤😮 oh the pillow is beautiful! Wow that fabric turned out amazing! Oh wow your project bags are so unique!how neat! Oh the girl on the bike! My grandaughter is a cat girl.loloh tree too! Lol oh love grows is great too. My daughter was goth dressing back in 90s and loved skull ones. Shes 44 now though well in june. Oh duckling is cute! Oh I have done dressing your truth. Hmm I like gathering but enjoy the calm, quiet in the morning and evening while I stitch. Right now am doing full coverage for my husband and my son winked said uhhh umm when dad ‘is done wth it’ can I have it. Then my daughter was oh me too, so there is a sister pattern and I am hoping the designer will chart it soon. Don’t love full coverage all the time but some.

Your a natural for flosstube. It was great. Love the choices you make in patterns. At one time I sewed a lot of clothing for my daughters and myself. Also made so many quilts over the years giving most away. I returned to cross stitch in last two years. For me I guess my favorite part is seeing the pattern come to life as I stitch. Although I do enjoy very aspect. ill definitely be back!

Your first video was excellent. Most of the cross stitch patterns you have choosen are different from those I choose, except the Rabbit chart. I have stitched the fox from that series and still have the deer to stitch. Planning new projects is what I love the most. I'm a dreamer & planner. Collecting fun things makes me happy. My sewing room is over flowing with fun bits & pieces. I started doing cross stitch in Aug 2022. I love buying patterns, fabric etc. I am currently attempting to make more room for my cross stitch in my sewing room. It's hard to part with my sewing & crafting supplies. But at 75 years old I know most of my cotton fabric & felted wool will not will not be used by me. I don't plan to do any more crochet, paper crafts or painting, but I will keep some supplies, just incase. Of all the hobbies I have done, cross stitching is the most relaxing.

I chanced upon your Flosstube and am so happy I did. Your projects are beautiful. I love your attitude. Also - 40 Ct with less than six months experience is seriously dope!

So enjoyed the video. I have a group of finishes that need to be fully finished but not too many. Most are seasonal or smalls that I wait until I have a few of the and work on them at the same time. I usually get my bigger finishes done right away; I've invested alot of time I them and I want to enjoy them.

I stress a little over placing those first few stitches in fear I didn’t do y math correctly. But I love the purchasing, the kitting, the stitching, the finishing, and sending my things to get FFOed. My love of bunnies stems from the nickname we gave my adopted daughter who had multiple medical special needs and passed away six years ago. She was always our bunny girl. And when she passed, I like to think she became a monarch butterfly as one came to visit me nearly every day for a month after she was gone. Enjoyed seeing your haul/kitted new projects. I am a long time quilter first. Moved to Asheville, NC in 2015 and the first ladies group I joined are knitters so they taught me to knit. Enjoy knitting very much so knitting comes in second. In April of 2021 I was watching RU-vid and flosstube popped up. 😮 What’s flosstube. Well, down the rabbit (😉) hole I went. We’re all mad here. So cross stitch is tied with knitting. I have a lifetime supply of everything. I like everything about all my hobbies. Choosing a pattern, choosing the required materials, starting a new project, finishing new projects. I like giving to friends and strangers. So most everything I make is a gift. I sew during the day and stitch or knit mostly at night. Being a sewist I also make all my project bags for everything I do plus make them for my friends but not to sell. Your bags are cheery and fun. I hope they sell like hotcakes. Thank you for sharing the info on types 1-4. I’ll check it out. Ciao for now.
