That paisley print you bought from Peggy looks really good on you! I would definitely keep that for yourself😊 And I think the blouse you made out of the blue panel print turned out super cute! It’s a keeper👍🏼
You do cheer me up, such a breath of fresh air. Loved your makes (and mistakes!) and your fitting tips. Style Arc can be a challenge but they have some stylish designs.
Joy, your sailboat quilt looks beautiful in your sitting area. It was beautiful at your other house, but it looks made for the wall there. Like that, you have a special place to chat with us, and oh love the quilt/fabric ideas. Be safe.
Hi Joy! Longtime viewer but not sure if I've commented before. Enjoyed this video! I always learn about fitting from your videos, which is something I'm trying to improve on in my sewing journey. I cracked up near the end when you mentioned "fake round back". Love it! Thanks for the great videos! ~Angela
I like Peggy too. She knows stuff I need to learn. I bought the leapard print with pink roses that you bought. I made a T-top from one of her patterns with it. The fabric is so nice. I love the top and I love that you have one too!
Your blue top is very attractive and unusual. It is fresh and cool ready for the warmer days to come. I'm inspired to look through my patterns and start something for Summer. Well done.
Oh Joy, I so enjoyed hearing about your cutting out adventure It is soooooo something I would do with my ADHD brain. For a change it wasn’t me. Thanks for letting us know your experience. I needed this!
Joy I really like your style arc top. I think it looks very slimming and it looks interesting with the points. Love the combination with the yellow pants. You should make it again as it looks great.
Hi Joy, I love your enthusiasm. I want to start sewing for myself. I am going through cancer treatment and I need a diversion. I use to sew for myself. I do have to get new patterns and new fabric...oh, poor me..have to get new stuff😁😁😁❤I am almost 83 and I have a lot more living to do on a limited budget...this will be fun. Send me some of your energy. Bless you and Jerry.❤❤❤
I am so inspired by you Barbara. Going through cancer treatment but still having such a great attitude. Yes, start sewing again. It is so relaxing and enjoyable to me, and you get a lot of new clothes. I pray you will have a total recovery very soon.
Your video today was entertaining 😁. I love the tops with different angles in front. Using different fabrics in the one blouse would have shown the different angles. It has been raining a lot but think of the beautiful green Spring and Summer it gives us! ( but like you, I need some sunshine)
I love it when you sing the “It’s May” song! You have a very nice singing voice! Oh and I had to chuckle when you showed us the the little pieces of wood that are breaking off of your mom’s chair because it reminded me of the time my husband sat down in his very old recliner and a big spring broke loose and flew across the room narrowly missing the tv! It was quite a shock and pretty funny (thankfully no one was hurt and nothing got damaged so we could laugh about it!).
You made me smile when you sang the lovely month of May !!!! That is one of my favorite movies as well !!!! I haven’t thought of it in years !!! Thank you for a lovely memory !!!!
I love all of your videos. I especially like your videos about clothes construction. I always learn so much about so many different aspects of sewing ! Thank you thank you!
Hi Joy, about the top that was cut out wrongly, the irony is, your level of expertise and confidence just shines here🌸 because I don’t know how you were even motivated to sew it up - I don’t think I would’ve even taken it to the sewing machine let alone think of ways to fix it. Thanks for teaching us that even in the sewing world, it’s not over til it’s over! Raining non stop here on the east coast of Australia too.
I just bought a pattern one of the 99 cent patterns from The Hobby Lobby that the model is wearing striped Fabric and then I realized I still have some striped fabric left
I'm a tailor and you have to have darts in women's clothing to change the dimensionality of the fit -- women have curves. Cheaper clothing is drafted to be used for unisex styling and therefore will forego the darts. But if you want clothes specifically made to fit a woman's body, you're going to have to have darts. The only things in my own wardrobe without darts are my tee shirts. Use darts, Joy!!!!!
Hi Joy, I actually said … wow, when you came on with that blue top . I love it especially with that stripe that goes around the back . I sit and giggle at you thank you for giving me laughs. ❤ I just love how happy you seem .😊
Love how you’re getting good use out of your lovely, complimentary knit dress! You’re such a joy. Your name fits you. Is your middle name feisty? Hugs C
I just want to add I absolutely loved as a young girl and even now Exactly The way you are joy! Your gift of order and all Is a gift! Many of us gals need to learn So. I love ya ❤
Good for you for sticking with it and completing the Style Arc blouse! It’s good for our brains to make them work a little bit harder than usual! And I actually like the neckline a lot! I know you said it was a mistake but the shape of the neckline is very flattering on you. It kind of looks like a boat neck.
Joy, I think you're new plan sounds great! I've noticed the Modlily ads also and they look like very flattering styles. PLEASE show us how you would modify the SFD sloper to make that striped blouse!
Joy this has been so very helpful. Thank you for discussing fabric types. I went to Hobby Lobby today and got a few woven cottons to make dresses with. Blessings.
I like what you did with the border fabric Similar to that is kwik sew 4158 For wovens and you could use some of your cotton that are coordinating I have been watching those style videos I take what I like and disregard the rest. I only take note when it is something that is what I like to wear Keep sewing and doing you we love you Happy sewing God bless
I love both tops, Peggy’s blue panel and the StyleArc top. I love the way you pivot, make adjustments and keep going. I tend to give up when I hit a big snag. 😱😱
No, on the Fabric at minute marker 18:20 it washes you out That blue panel Fabric what you did with that was really good and that color looks really good on you The blouse that you’re wearing with the purple pants that neckline is extremely flattering for you And I agree with you that bust darts are necessary. I don’t know what Judy is talking about some of her clothes or her designs look sloppy. Might be OK for pajamas. As far as that white top where you were tucking it inside of your jeans, I think this is the right term, but if you were to use a shirring effect with some elastic to gather it up, I think that would look really nice The top where you had all the issues turned out quite nice and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the neckline. You could have always grabbed some other fabric like a solid to make the sleeves size 14. But it is too long. It should be falling right about your hip line or a tiny bit shorter. You can always pin it shorter and see what you think.
