Etherial. What a beautifully, descriptive word for the piece! Thank you for sharing your stitching. Every project is done one stitch at a time and progress is made when we actually stitch. Have a lovely day!
So lovely to see you, MaryRose! Your stitching of that precious fairy is beautiful. And thank you to you and your dear husband, Harlequin, for all those cute pictures. Her artwork is so spirited and sweet.
You created such a wonderful video for us. Thank you for sharing your magical stitching with us and thank you to Harlequin for his research. The two of you compliment each other so well.
🦋 Thankyou so much diane. Harlequin is such a patient man with that editing. I think I would unravel if I had to do it! But then again he would unravel if he had to cook dinner, so you are right about us complimenting each other! Happy Stitching xx:):)🌹
This was great fun, Mary Rose, to see a mystery revealed through your stitching! The Rose Fairy is so beautiful and magical, and such a wonderful gift. I enjoyed hearing about the artist as well. Thanks to you and Harlequin!
🦋 Thankyou very much for your company elizabeth. There is something so special about fairies isn’t there?! Harlequin and I enjoyed putting this video together! Happy Stitching xx:):)🌹
So Beautiful! My goodness, you are a prolific stitcher. Thanks for all the time and energy put into this video and the stitching! So happy on seeing this video. You are such a gem Miss Butterfly Fairy!
🦋 Thankyou so very much for joining me! This dear little fairy was such a joy to stitch ~ I am almost tempted to stitch her again one over one on 28 count…..Almost!!!!!!😂 Happy Stitching xx:):)🌹
Oh, Mary Rose, that is without a doubt the sweetest fairy picture ever!! And you did a beautiful job of stitching of course. Thank you so much for sharing!
That was so charming! I’ve enjoyed watching many of your videos but haven’t commented before. I truly appreciate the background information you share about the artist or designer of the piece you’re working on - along with the very evident pleasure you take in stitching your needle art. Thank you for sharing with other stitchers. 🪡
Oh, Mary Rose, how lovely. It was such fun to keep guessing what you were stitching. The piece is so ethereal , elegant, and full of depth. I almost see lilacs in the background on the top corner of the lighter side.Thank Harlequin for his research. It and the poem were very enjoyable.
Hello Mary Rose how happy l was to see another video from you pop up. And what a lovely one it was. I’m sure I’ll go back several times to listen to you read that sweet poem. My husband is 89 and l’m 76. We stay home almost all the time and we’ve managed to create our sweet fairy garden. No one sees it but us😂 but we treasure every day. You truly are a dear ! Thank you.
It's so good to see you back! I have missed your delightful and beautiful videos. I've always appreciated the beauty of Cicely Mary's work - thank you for sharing the information and pictures. The cross stitch beauty you did for your little family member is exquisite! Blessings to you and Harlequin.🤩
🦋 Thankyou so much vicky, she is such an enchanting little one, from a very fine artist. Timeless. All the Best to you and yours and Happy Stitching from Harlequin and myself xx:):)🌹🎭
Oh yes, it's fun to believe fairies are the heart and soul of living nature! They speak to us through beauty, as you have depicted so beautifully in your cross stitch piece! ❤ You are such an outstanding stitcher, and the love you have for your craft comes shining through. Such beautiful work, and thank you and Harlequin for putting together such a wonderful video that included sharing the artist's history and works. Love your channel. 🥰🥰
That was such a lovely video of your beautiful work - stitched in speedy time I think. I remember when the flower fairies were very popular here in the UK in the 1980s and 1990a. The fairy with what looks like a dandeliion called Jack Go To Bed at Noon is, actually, the Meadow Salsify that only opens in the morning sun, which is why it gets its nickname. It's also called meadow goat's beard. Thank you, Harlequin, for finding the brief biography of Cicely M Barker. That was fascinating to hear.
Lovely stitching. Flower Fairies were hugely popular here back in the 1980’s and 1990’s. I used to have the complete flower fairies book but it got unhauled a few years back. They are lovely paintings.
Hi Mary Rose. I’m a new follower to your channel. I accidentally ran into your channel quite awhile back. For some reason I didn’t subscribe. Who the heck knows why not?🤦♀️ I know Vonna absolutely loves you and the next time I saw your video…well who wouldn’t love you? Your work is so lovely and you always teach us something about the artist or the background of the project. I appreciate your knowledge. You also have taught us stitching techniques. I hope every stitcher in the world runs into your channel and realizes the goldmine they’ve found. And other than a Mill Hill, I’ve really not done full coverage. But well, as the Little Red Engine said…”I think I can!” Thx very, very much for the video. Our daughter and grandchildren just moved to the UK. If we ever come out there, I wonder if I could meet you and get your autograph 😀 Your fully finished project is magnificent. Would’ve loved to have seen the recipient’s expression when they opened this treasure. Thx again🤗
🦋 Hi jannie ~ you did have me blushing! lol. Vonna is a beautiful person inside and out and she is very much admired by yours truly. The internet has brought so many stitchers together, and we all share a passion for our gentle art. I hope that you get to visit your family in the UK one day. It is a wonderful place. I married an Australian so that is where I live now. Harlequin and I did live in England for 5 years after the children had left home and we loved it, but we came back to Australia as his mother was here and so are all of our children having been born here. If it were not for them we would be back in England in the blink of an eye! May I wish you and your family much joy, both in life and in your stitching. Blessings from Mary 🌹and her Harlequin 🎭xx:):)
I enjoyed your update and beautuful stitching project. Its always extra special when you add the backround info on the project. Thank you for sharing and happy stitching.
I came racing back to this video to share some most wonderful news! Weeks after watching your video on your work on the rose fairy by artwork by Cicely Mary Barker, I was told to expect a package in the mail from my mother and sister. I was given instructions by them not to open it until they could see my face on video chat. I dutifully called them when I received the package only to find that it contained 8 cross stitch kits from Designs for the Needle of Flower Fairies by Cicely Mary Barker!! Can you imagine my surprise and delight?! The very artwork of The White Bindweed fairy you show in this video was amongst them along with Zinnia Fairy, The Yarrow Fairy, The Michaelmas Daisy Fairy, The Almond Blossom Fairy, The Forget-Me-Not Fairy, The Wood-Sorrel Fairy and The Stitchwort Fairy! Mymother and sister have been delving into estate sales and selling stuff on eBay when they came across this lot of cross stitch kits and knew I would love them. I hadn't even mentioned this video or the artist to them! I just had to share the news with you! I can't wait to start stitching my way through these for my nieces to enjoy. ❤
🦋 How wonderful for you natita, a little bit of fairy magic surely came your way and was meant to be! How amazing that your mother and sister would be keeping your surprise ~ another secret stitch really! I wish you much joy as you stitch these delightful little folk! Your nieces will be enchanted and inspired by them I’m sure. Bless you and your family. xx:):)🌹
Hello, Mary Rose! You read my mind....I was thinking of you the other day and hoping you and Harlequin are doing well. The Rose Fairy is just beautiful. I hope the lucky recipient will treasure it always. I love your videos, stitching and the interesting research Harlequin provides. Thank you both for the wonderful content. Look forward to next time!❤
That was delightful. Thank you so much for such a lovely surprise. It was a wonderful way to reveal it through May and then until it was completed . I'm sure the little girl will love it forever. Well done.
🦋 Thankyou so much julia. It was amazing to me that the face reveal came on the very last day of Maynia ~ the fairies must have arranged that don’t you think!? Lol. Happy Stitching xx:):)🌹
I had the original books when I was a kid - they were my mother's I'm not THAT old. 😂 I have been looking at these exact charts but never bit the bullet. After seeing your Rose Fairy I will, sooner than later. Gorgeous.
Hi Mary Rose 👋 O my goodness, what a wonderful hour you have just shared. Your Rose Fairy finish is just simply beautiful. She is adorable!! Such detail. I was sooo tempted to fast forward to the end of the reveal but I’m so glad I didn’t. I kept guessing out loud “what can it be?” ( & I live alone so of course had to answer myself as well) 🤣. Away with the fairies you could say 🤣🤣. Anyway took me to day 29 before the penny dropped. 😂 The final stills as she gradually emerged just bought tears of delight to my eyes. I think it was the music that tipped me over the edge 😂😂. I’m getting so sentimental in my old age. 🤣. Thank you also to Harlequin for the gallery of pictures. What a talent Cicely was. Amazing detail in her work. She truly left us all a gift. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful piece Mary Rose, it must’ve taken you so much time & effort to put together. It will stay with me. Take care both ❤️❤️
🦋 Thankyou so very much for your natural instinct to resist temptation and to view the whole stitching event just as it was meant to be experienced. I am amazed that the little one was able to be recognised just in the last days of Maynia ~ pure coincidence. But with fairy magic around, maybe it wasn’t coincidence! Blessings sent to you and Happy Stitching! xx:):)🌹
Oh Be still my heart ♥️♥️🦋🦋 🧚♂️ she’s lovely ♥️🦋🧚♂️ Always such stunning stitching. Soooooooo good to see you . I leaped when I saw a video by you… don’t stay away … love to see your masterpiece with the 16th century (?) men & fancy boots ..:-)) Hope you & Harlequin are doing well & in heath too. Hugs 🤗 🇺🇸 Blessings…. Sharon , Ohio
🦋 Thankyou so much sharon! That little fairy captured my heart that’s for sure. I am about 4 pages away from the end of the row of Fancy boots with 2 more rows to go, so it’s all very exciting. It wasn’t easy to put him down, but the fairy was such a joy it was worth it. An update on Fancy is not too far away. Meanwhile I wish you the happiest of stitching! All the Best from Harlequin 🎭and myself 🌹xx:):)
😊❤ The Rose Fairy is just lovely! I am also drawn to that vintage style and before you started talking about the artist i thought it looked like an old postcard. Some of her other work puts me in mind of the famous fairy tale illustrator whose last name was Rackham. I think his first name was Arthur, but not sure. I am always so happy to watch your videos, you have very different projects than is typical. So enjoyed seeing something different and unique!
🦋 Thankyou so much for joining me, melanie. That dear little fairy captured my heart I must confess ~ although I have stitched Holly Fairy who is delightful too. I must see if I can locate her to show for my next video. Until then, I wish you very Happy Stitching! xx:):)🌹
🦋 Thanks shelley ~ yes ~ those tiny stitches. A lot easier that one over one 28 count though ~ oh Nelly! That was a challenge! Happy Stitching! xx:):)🌹
Thank you and Harlequin for such and entertaining and informative video. your stitching is beautiful and youdo so good in front of the camera and Harlequin knowledge of editing and research behind the camera ...just great 🎉 👍 you both are a great pair. 👍 ❤❤👫👩❤️👨❤️❤️
🦋 Thankyou for your kind words jamie! Harlequin is just about the most patient man on the planet and that quality certainly comes in handy as far as editing goes. I get the fun and easy part ~ the stitching! I wish you joy of your stitching and all the Best from Harlequin and myself. xx:):)🌹🎭
Mary Rose that was fantastic. Thank you for sharing everything it was lovely. Looking forward to your next piece. Take care.I am still working on my black horse.
🦋 I wish you very well with your black horse. When you see him galloping over your wall, you will know it will all be very much worth the splendid effort you made! xx:):)🌹
