Congratulations on finishing Lovebirds. For your consideration, I think finding a matting could be challenging. I would leave a larger border between the piece and your frame which will showcase the fabulous Cabernet linen and then have a white frame. Love the videos!! Happy stitching!
Lucky snow days! We didn't get any in the last blizzard or two we've had here, although they did up in Fort Collins. Again, I just love the white birds on the red fabric. I have a pattern that is similar to that from a series I purchased. I currently have some pink fabric set aside for it, but I really like the red. I might have to switch that up. I hope you stay warm this week and get some fabulous stitching time!
Really any white on a color will look fantastic! But yes, I love how Lovebirds turned out - it's a perfect "February" piece! I hope you had a great week!

I can hardly wait to see what they come up with for a matting on Lovebirds. I hope your beads work out for you on Easter Cross. Your Winter Montage is looking really great! You are making good progress for only stitching on it on Sundays. I agree that they are Holly Berries. If you do WIPGO next year, you could put it on your board for something like 2 days several times. Really great progress on Summer Quakers. Nice haul. Cute Madam la Fee patterns, especially Blue Flower. Did I ever tell you that for my first wedding the bridesmaids wore mint green dresses with white daisies on them, carried daisies, and the matron of honor wore lemon yellow with white daisies and carried daisies as well? My flowers were daises and carnations, the alter flowers were green and yellow daisies tinted to match the attendants dresses? I need to find something that has I as the title or designer because I am tired of using iridescent fabric even though I have a lot of pieces on iridescent fabrics. I am having a hard time coming up with the Y because I don't have many pieces with yellow stitches and I am drawing a blank otherwise. Oh my your first wedding colors and dresses sound sublime! I wish I could have been there! For I this month I am using something from Jan Hicks because she lives in Idaho (trying to think outside the box). Y is also hard for me - maybe something that makes you go "YAY!" when you stitch it? Love your finish and your progress on your wips. I also started Alpine Garden for my birthday 2 years ago and you have done more on it then me. lol. If you want some snow I can send you some. Here in Canada we reached 100 inches yesterday for the season so far. Happy stitching!

Good morning! I have bought beads at Joann's in that type container and you're right, they will spill everywhere when that top finally opens. Hold it in a large baking dish so they're contained. I take a needle and work it between the cap and tube to try to unstick them. You can sprinkle a tiny bit of baby powder or cornstarch in there too. Personally, I then transfer the beads to an empty tic tac container so I don't have to fight that rubber cap ever again. Good luck! (And if there's a simpler way that someone else knows, I can't wait to hear it)
Ha! Thank you so much for your tips! I used your tip of having a baking dish and then someone else suggested you open from the bottom, not the top and that worked really well with minimal spillage! Hope that helps you in the future!
I’ve had my eye on Reflets de Soie for a while but I would also change a couple of the motifs, I like how you put it… choosing a motif that better represents you. :) And hooray for Madame la Fée! One of, if not my favourite designer. I’m on my fourth one, in fact I was stitching it while I watched your video. The blue one is lovely, I might be tempted to start another one….. 😊

Hi Carolyn, so re samplers - lots of girls didn't get to go to school so this was a way to teach them their letters and numbers. Also not just for when they got married but for when they went into service, they could do the embroidery work on linens for the lady and lord of the household etc. Sometimes they did these samplers as they were coming to an age to be married and gentlemen callers could see their work hanging on their wall to see if their work was suitable for a proper wife for the reasons you talked about. These were of course hung in the parlour for the gentlemen to view so they actually were a sample of their ability. I have learned a lot about Samplers from living in the UK. There are distinct differences in each area of Europe for samplers. Your Lovebirds piece is stunning! Congrats on the finish.
AHHH!!! My birthday twin - I KNEW you were out there somewhere! Isn't it the best day to be born on? Right on the cusp of Pisces and Aires. I think either colorway for Blue Rhapsody would be stunning (sorry, not much help there)

I must confess, I watched, fell asleep and had to watch it again. Made my list and then didn’t send it. I’ll just have to get things as they release later, which will be better. I went wild my first Market and still haven’t stitched anything I bought, shame on me. Maybe later this year. I’m surprised about snow in your area, I thought it was too warm. Silly me. Your talk about samplers got me thinking as a companion piece to your valentine heart you could make a band sampler on the same fabric with the same floss to hang near each other. Fancy alphabet would be pretty like that and very Victorian looking. Btw, great explanation. I missed the zoom, again. Bad night very little sleep and I was asleep in my chair. Beads some twist off, some pull. I always store them in a different container than they came in, because I bought a 64 beed storage box years ago so all my beads are in three multi container cases stacked together. I cut the label off and put it in with the beads. Same with my findings and charms. Stay safe and warm.
It's so true though that most of these Market releases will still be available after market. You are wise! I love your idea of a companion piece on the same fabric of Lovebirds - thank you! I will look for the right pattern.

Blue Rhapsody. My Birthday is the 20th. So I will be starting it on the 18th, the Birthday of my Dearest Oldest Best-friend ever who unfortunately was killed by a drunk driver while she was driving home on road she lived on, returning home from a newspaper reporter assignment. I miss her dearly.

Yay for Blue Rhapsody! I think the system that moved through our area was really weird - my house must have been in a hole that just didn't get much snow, because everywhere else got a ton!

Hi Carolyn Great fun video. We here in Utah are getting dumped on with snow this year we need it we are drastically in a drought so it all helps. My son got about 2 feet he is west of SLC . He hates snow. They said we might move over by Seaside that day Seaside got snow! To funny. Snowing again today I don’t mind the snow since I don’t work anymore. And those snowy mornings are ok now. There are also Quaker samplers, plus there are alphabet samplers where there is nothing but alphabets of varying size and design. The original purpose of a sampler was for girls to learn different designs, patches, borders and alphabets to use in repairing clothing and/or marking clothing to tell who they belonged to. Also, women were not allowed to learn to write so the only way they could learn their letters were to stitch them

I would like to start one if the seasonal Quaker pieces, maybe Autumn. I am dipping my toe into samplers, but am not big on alphabets, so thought that might be a good place to start. ☺ Thanks again for the Market video, I have a list, and discovered some pieces and designers I might never have seen, thanks to you!
Wonderful! I am so happy you discovered some new designers! The Quakers are a great place to start if you aren't big into alphabets (I'm mostly not either, though I do find myself gravitating more and more to some alphabets).
Love your projects! I love my 25/7 activity and really see a lot of results, but I get tired of doing the same piece for the entire month. I have begun to stitch on 2 different ones and split the month up in various ways, this keeps me very engaged and excited to complete daily but on task with the very specific 2 projects. I so appreciated your GaRon review and watched it all! Great job! ❤️

@@yvonnevigil7489 Not in general, but I did on Lovebirds because it is all white - white stitches for me are hard to look nice, so railroading helps. But I don't do it in general.
