Flosstube #18 - Stitchy update and a clean slate 

I don't have a word for the year but I do rely heavily on PRAYER. I will keep you and your family in my prayers for God's will to be done. I love project number 5.

I chose Simplicity for my word. I married about a year and a half ago; he retired in December and we moved back to my house (Ohio to Tennessee). Combining 2 households means it’s time to simplify! 1 2 4

Angi, so glad that you are safe from all of the recent storms and flooding in CA. I am so sorry that you are going to have to give up your home. I’ll pray that you find a place to store it, and will not have to give it up. Though, my mother used to say “the world is full of houses and you will find another one!” You are to be commended for stepping in and taking custody of your sister’s children. You all have been through such a loss, giving them stability and taking care of them makes it less difficult for them. Keep the faith and stay strong!

I wouldn't mind snuggling Sophie while your busy. I remember Bloody Mary (the bathroom one), as well as "Light as a feather, stiff as board." We have a lot of levee issues as well as drainage issues. The soils in our area can't take as much water as other areas. Sacramento has a lot of hard-pan which does not allow for water absorption. You will get those kids! So sorry about the Tiny House. I don't have a word for the year, but I do have personal goals that I am working on. One of them is definitely expressing gratitude more often. One other is to come to relationships (business and personal) with a service mindset. As an estate attorney, it makes a big difference to my clients for me to have a heart for service. 1. Your stitching is beautiful. I just love seeing your work. I'm so sorry about your house. I know how much pride you take in your home. Good luck to you for the hearing you have coming up. My word for the year is Intentional. I am intentionally working on WIPS to get them completed as I have to many. I am intentionally shopping from my stash. I do not want to spend any money on patterns this year. I already own to many. I am intentionally reading my Bible this year very slowly. In the past I have just breezed through it and did not do it with intent to understand but to get through. I like your number 3 and 5.

A little late to this flosstube, but I am so happy that you are well, safe and moving forward. So many decisions for you but I feel that you will come to a loving and wonderful decision. I love you Holy Night stitchy piece by Barbara Ana. I have the pattern and I think I’ll stitch it on a blue similar to yours. The piece is gorgeous including the finishing. I hope your nephew does really well with his audition. You all need some goodness in your lives. Congratulations on giving your talk to the genealogy group. I majored in American history in college. I loved studying early American history including the Revolutionary War. That was my focus. So I really enjoyed your story about the drummer boy on the quarter and Benedict Arnold and Washington. Wow! That is so cool that you have two ancestors who were on the Mayflower! Your Quaker stocking looks awesome in those shades of purple. I loved your Holy Night finish too. That was an interesting color you used on the Little Red Schoolhouse pinkeep. I've been looking for that pattern, but it seems to be sold out everywhere. Hopefully it will be back in stock soon. Hi Angie, I stitch on Aida because I’m not allowed to use a magnifier of any nature. I use Picture This Plus and Fibre on a Whim these are both very very soft and beautiful. They obviously use something in the dying process that makes it so soft .

If you don't mind a question, how do you stitch 46 ct & smaller? Glasses w/magnification & lite? I love LOVE all your projects on the higher counts (smaller finished size) but can't find a way myself where I can see to stitch while being comfortable enough to stitch for any length of time. Love your FlossTube channel. I look forward to seeing what you have to show. I’m not a fan of live videos, mainly because it seems the video caster is distracted trying not to miss a name. I don’t like it when in the middle of telling or showing the viewer something they stop and say “hi” to whoever’s name has caught their attention. I like 1 & 3. I know you have many responsibilities. Praying for you as you try to care for your sister’s children. Different circumstances but I have been there and understand.

I personally would go with Sumptuous for Spring Hare as it is a more natural rabbit background coloring but I go for more natural appearing things. Congrats on being a genealogy speaker!
