I truly admired how you kept the treats in your Barrie gift until you returned home, and your husband got to enjoy them - so kind - I wish I had that kind of restraint😊!

Hi Leslie, the retreat was wonderful! I was so happy I could attend. It is fun to discover the connection between the two (or three) samplers. I need to lay them out and compare a little more. Fun to see what is similar and what is different. 🙂 So glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for your note.

Love seeing your projects. Hearing about those two related samplers was such an exciting discovery! The QCSG event was something else, wasn’t it? I learned so much and enjoyed meeting new people.

Hi KC, so glad you enjoyed the video. 😘 The scissors I showed are Gingher 4” curved embroidery scissors. I’ve had them forever and they still are my “go-to” scissors as I am stitching. 🙂 Thanks so much for your nice note. 🙂🙂

I don't often comment Karen, but just know what a treat your videos are. So very enjoyable to watch - although dangerous (I think you're the flosstuber that has "made" me spend the most 😂). Thank you so much for the information about Nicola’s class. I watched her video and registered for her free class. So glad the tornado did not affect your home. So sad for all those she were affected. Prayers the them.

I just registered for Nicola's class as well. :) Thanks for your note about the tornado . . . clean up and ;help for those affected will continue for some time, but there have been lots of volunteers, which is a good thing. :)

Your piece "Shores on hawk run hollow" is beautiful, the first block the sun is the best I've ever seen. Did you do an extra row around it?

Hey Karen! You keep on saying you were gifted. These are not really gifts as you did pay for your admittance to the workshop. Is this right? I am thinking of perhaps going to a workshop and wonder will I get all these gifts on top of the sampler/project kit I pay for? Thank you!

Hi Patty, 🙂 Thanks so much for your note. Our workshop payment was for the workshop, our kit, lunch each day and an opening reception, so yes, these were extra gifts. All the other goodies were totally unexpected and we appreciated them so much. The guild and Nicola both outdid themselves to gift us with so many items. 🙂 Each workshop I’ve been to is a little different. Most of the time there’s an extra little treat along the way and sometimes there is not. These extra goodies are special treats and everyone was so surprised and appreciative to the guild and to Nicola for them. It was a very lovely event and I was so happy I could attend. 🙂

The fact that those two samplers are so closely related and so similar, with NO recognition to either the teacher or prior designer, makes me question the insistence of many that doing a reproduction means you must slavishly copy and not make any reference to yourself, who is actually stitching it. I've noticed it with many of them. These girls made no reference to the original designers.

It is interesting. Perhaps the girls (as mentioned in the blurb) studied with the same teacher. 🤷‍♀️ Interesting to ponder. I think I’m going to spend some time looking at each sampler and comparing the motifs, etc. 🤔 Thanks for your note.
