Spring is here and summer just around the corner, although maybe it’s already arrived in Ohio!! AC in April!! Crazy!! So while it’s nice to consider a romantic sleigh ride, I think maybe a pickup truck with the moon roof open and some Alan Jackson belting out “Way down yonder on the Chattahoochee, it gets hotter than a coochee coochee🎶” would be more appropriate for the season. You ladies are the highlight of my Mondays. I know I will always get a good laugh and see some beautiful stitching. However, this time you had me breaking my "no buy pattern" rule for the year. When I saw the Twin Peaks pattern of the week I didn't even stop to breathe until that was in my cart. I already have it downloaded into pattern keeper and am working on kitting it up. In my twisted mind I see George and Martha Washington in it so that makes it patriotic to stitch in an election year. 🤪

I enjoyed the reference about Martha Ballard. My mother was from Maine and Martha was a distant relative of her fathers. I live in CA. but travel to Maine most years, as we still have the cottage on a lake in Belgrade Maine. I love Maine.. and my mother used to say, once you have Maine blood, its in your DNA and can never be removed! I enjoy your videos. Thank you for all you share..

I'm meeting my good friend Niecie Lynn there. We've become very good friends after I discovered floss tubes at the very beginning of COVID. I had not stitched in over 40 years, but the floss tube community got me through those very scary early days. I found your channel early in that time frame and have been a faithful viewer ever since! I really do not know how I would have made it without this wonderful community of stitchers. I've even gotten brave enough to go to 2 of my LNSs for stitch-ins. Fellow history buff here - I just had to look this up, since I noticed that you were celebrating Patriots’ Day on April 16, but of course the battles of Lexington and Concord were on April 19 (1775). Turns out the holiday itself in Massachusetts is April 19, but it is celebrated on the third Friday in April. Happily stitching on Let Freedom Ring by Lila’s Studio in honor of it this month (and a double WIPGO too! How perfect).
Hi Pam and Stephanie. Stephanie, I had hoped to see you in person today. On my way back from Columbus Ohio my husband was willing to let me spend some time at Keepsakes. I was so excited, but sadly arrived at 10 am to find you didn't open until 11. 🥲 We really needed to head south to Chattanooga to get back to our fur children so all I got was a picture of the outside. Maybe someday I will come by at the right time. Your location is lovely.

Georgia is sadly lacking, yes. I’m just outside of Atlanta, and we have no LNS. (Two really good quilt stores, one of which has a little corner of cross stitch stuff, but that’s it.) Didn’t think Atlanta could be lacking anything, but alas, there we are!
Hello Erin, My name is Allison Wells, I live in Auburn, Alabama. So, I'm only about 35 to 40 minutes from Columbus. I, like you, do not know of anyone who cross stitches. My husband tries to look interested, lol. Wow, 7 kids, you are one busy Mom. We have 3 kids, all are married. Its just my husband and I along with our 3 dogs. I'm 53 years old, so you are a lot younger than me. But, if you ever would like to meet up at Barnes and Noble or Panera Bread, I would not mind driving over to Columbus. I go that way a lot. All 3 of my children live in Georgia, and my husband and I grew up in Georiga.

Pam- I also really enjoy how u throw in a bit of trivia related to the designs u show...prairie schoolers and the girl scouts song for example... but I'm still stuck on that awesome bit of info u threw in after ur monopoly board finish in that ft a while back- I was so enthralled by that I had to tell my husband n son about it that night over dinner and they both thought it was so cool that they did that to help the pows! ❤
There is a needlework shop in Atlanta, GA called Labors of Love. There is also the Nimble Needle. They both cater more towards needlepoint but they have many stitchy goodies.

I had the joy and privilege to meet Stephanie and Barbara last Tuesday while in Ohio seeing the total solar eclipse. I had my heart set on visiting Keepsakes for the last 3 years. I was so overwhelmed with happiness to visit and highly recommend this shop to anyone that can get there! I so wish I could sit and stitch with Pam one day. As always, love the content! Y’all had me giggling from the beginning on the cockles (which I thought were some type of shellfish????). And then we had another new vocab word for this week from Pam…inasenix. I thought it a strange key word to choose, since I’m sure it’s not an everyday word (at least not one heard in the VA region), but our resident librarian was sure to tell us all about it and why it related to the Christmas sign pattern. And then, out of left field (at least to us watching) Steph comes in with the definition: in a sentence!! Geez Jenni, put your listening ears on!!!! 😂😂😂

Oh, Pam! My mom is also a grad of Simmons. To keep a long story short, she got her second MLS from them in 1990, right around the same time as the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum theft. I was pretty young and just remember that I was hot and uncomfortable for her graduation. (On the other hand, for her first MLS - again, long story - the windchill was -14F and that was December at U of Nebraska Omaha sooooo complain complain :))
Pam, you should enjoy this story that your mentioning of Patriot’s/Patriots Day made me think of: I visited Lexington and Concord with a whole bus load of librarians p a number of years ago.* We got a tour guide, who absolutely loved us, because we were the first group in her 20 or 30 years of being a tour guide who actually wanted to know more - she got to pull out all the bits that she had shifted out of her presentations over the years, because we were the first group to ask so many questions!. *apparently this happens 16 years ago? No surely it couldn’t be… I guess it has to be - the other funny story from that same day trip was all the times someone would mention needing to look something up when they got home, and as smart phones had only just started to be released, I said “as soon as librarians can afford smart phones, we’re going to be dangerous!” 😂😂😂

All right, Pam and Steph, you invoked and I am here. Cockle by definition is “an edible burrowing bivalve mollusk with a strong ribbed shell.” I did not treat any clams during my practice. However, warm my cockles means to make one feel good as Pam’s pin comment does to her. This expression uses a corruption of the Latin name for the heart's ventricles, cochleae cordis. [ Second half of 1600s] So, back to me, this shows a connection to medicine in particular the heart. However, I was not a cardiologist, Steph, and dealt with the care of women. Therefore, I must respectively decline to comment on the care and treatment of cockles as it is not in my expertise. Love you guys.

I retired (early) from TSYS. My husband still works. We have 3 adult cats and recently adopted 2 Siamese kittens. They make our lives very interesting!! We've been married almost 13 years. The local EGA (Embroiderers' Guild of America) is the Dixie Chapter. They have a business meeting and a program the first Tuesday of the month (7 pm) at St Paul UMC (excluding July and Dec). The other Tuesdays of the month they stitch together from 7-9 pm. Some if them also eat supper beforehand at 5 or 5:30. I belong to Sewrority Sisters Quilting Guild (in Harris County) that meets the 4th Sat from 10:30 am -12:30 pm. I've attended several of their retreats. The next one is a daytime, local (in Midland/Ellerslie area) retreat May 16-17-18. It is held at a church close to Sunday Best Quiltworks in Ellerslie. Have you ever been to that shop? Hi Erin....I am in Opelika...very close to Columbus. My cousin, Becca, lives in Columbus. She is also a quilter and cross stitcher. We know of some others. There is an EGA group that meets once a month. Would love to get together. I can take a ride to Columbus.
