In this short video, I show off my finished bookmarks, and then walk through how I finished them. I used two methods, first with covering the back with extra aida, and second by stitching microsuede over the back. One is much better than the other! I give a brief demonstration of the aida-backing method (my preferred method.)
Thanks for watching!

The “Fold Over Finish” is the PERFECT solution to my question of how to finish the back of the bookmarks I’m making for my brother and sister in law. Thank you so much!

I’m so glad you were able to finish the bookmarks for your. Co-workers. They turned out so very nice. I wish I was getting one! Good luck in your next adventure. My son is a lawyer, so I have respect for the profession.

Thank you so much for sharing these techniques, particularly the aida backing technique, which I am sure will be useful in the future not only for bookmarks but for coasters for my coffee table.

Lovely Gifts. I have used felt for backing with my bookmarks. I do like the aida backing technique, will try that in the future. Stitching a bookmark now may try that once finished. Yes! The fraying is very therapeutic. 👍😃❤

Thank you so much! I gave them the gifts yesterday, and they loved them! I got lots of questions about the patterns and colors. 😊

I knew you would make it work. The next time you finish it’ll be even better. But remember they don’t know what it should look like so they’ll think it’s great. Bravo

Your encouragement is powerful - thank you! Yes, it’s always hardest to try a new finishing technique, and now, this isn’t new. I’m looking forward to my next bookmark finishes! Thank you for watching ❤

Thanks so much for giving us the opportunity to learn from your experiences. Love the doubled over Aida technique. The finished product is beautiful. If possible, could you bring your projects up a little closer to the camera? Many thanks!

I would try some iron on fusible webbing with the ultrasuede which will stop it puckering...this might give you a neater result. A roller cutter and ruler will give you better cuts too :) love that you are sharing your "fails" too....a great learning for all.of us...

Sorry for my slow reply!! Thank you for those tips, I think you’re right. I’m putting a roller cutter on my Christmas list! And yes, I always have a lot of “fails” but I’ll share em all haha!
