This was such a fun video. Since I have been cross stitching for 50+ years, all I knew about were kits. There was a time in the 80s when I purchased some paperback books with patterns and purchased the supplies to make them. But mostly kits until I discovered Flosstube. It opened a whole new world to me. I too love Charles Wysocki's work. My husband and I have done several puzzles with his artwork. With more to come. I stitched a Charles Wysocki kit many years ago. It is the cat hanging on a tree branch. I also have two other kits of his work to stitch. One is the cat in the bookshelf (soon to be started) and the other is the cat with the sewing machine. Enjoy your kits and don't be intimidated by the backstitching. It is easy to do and makes a piece come alive. Take Care.
I can’t wait to see your progress on the Winter Band Sampler. You exposed me to the Autumn Band Sampler and now I want to do all the band samplers in that collection. Great video!
You are not alone. We all seem to have more than we will ever stitch but it’s our hobby! It makes us happy to collect these patterns and be able to go back and look at them whenever we want, let alone stitch them.
I loved this! I added quite a few of these patterns to my 123Stitch wishlist! One of my obsessions is seasonal patterns. If I find a cute winter pattern, I have to look for the other seasons. If the designer has only done one or two of the other seasons, I have to wait. It isn’t like I put them out altogether… lol Thanks for sharing!
Artie I love Cosy Cove as well. Have put that in my basket a few times and removed it. If you prefer floss drops then just kit it the way you like. I like the bags because I am too lazy to thread my partial thread back on floss drops so I just drop in my floss bag and when I need that color if I can use that tidbit of thread I just pull it out. I too have several dimensions kits that I picked up for a small price. Good luck getting them all done.
Remember, ‘shopping’ for our craft and ‘doing’ our craft are two different hobbies! 🤣 I do not collect kits like Dimensions, etc., but I have easily 75 patterns that I’ve purchased and have ‘kitted’ with fabric and fibers. 🤦♀️ More than my lifetime of stitching. Every time I think my taste has changed and I should release a kit, I look and say ‘but it’s so cute’! 😊 Loved your kit parade. Thanks for sharing.
My mother-in-law also did many Dimensions kits. I have a few of the finished framed stitches here. I might post them one day because they are so beautiful. One flosstuber I watch who does kits is StitchyReispieces. Her name is Erica. I have a big project ahead by The Blue Flower. Actually two. Forest Home and Happy Campers. Not kitted up yet though.
I completely understand what you mean when you said that you can't stitch something that reminds you of a beloved pet. I lost my Mischa just over a year ago, and I think I might be to the point where I could go back to the project that I was working on that night when I had to run her to the emergency vet. It's sat on the sidelines since then because it's just too painful. Give it time. Wait until you're ready. If that's never, then that's okay too. We don't do this to punish ourselves.
I use floss drops, and then put them in the floss bags for my mom. She makes such a mess! I have her take just the few next colors out to put in her stitching bag. Then she (I) put them back on the ring, and thread the leftovers into the small hole
My favorites are the Charles Wysocki kits. My whole family is a great fan of his work and the atmosphere he created. I have stiched a couple of these kits together with my daughter. Even have 2 of these old kits in my stash. 😊
I have been going thru my collection over the years, I have found a Nora Corbin and was excited. I have used Aida in a few sizes but have yet used any other fabric. Maybe sometime I’ll venture out one day.

Kit parades are even more fun that WIP parades! I always enjoy seeing what another stitcher has collected. I have the Luca-S kit with the Christmas Room. I think it will be my New Year start; I've been making great progress this year on my existing WIPs and getting some finishes so I don't want to disrupt that! 🪡👠

ARTTIE!!! Hiya, when spinning silk I use an olive oil, sugar scrub about a week before I start spinning it Otherwise any nick or crack in the skin will have silk strands hanging o them. With threads I'd keep a thread condition like thread heaven on hand just in case it starts a twisting an d knotting. Needlepoint is just doing a half a cross stitch aka Petit stitch. The difference is what direction you are stitching On small projects I just do it in hand larger projects I use one of those square hoops that's made out of pvc that you can adjust the size. Good luck with those kits not a rabbit hole I plan to go down.

Winter/Christmas always catches my eye. Although anything that I like I will generally stitch. My wish list on Fat Quarter Shop is huge - I don’t think I will ever get it down to a manageable level 😂
Oops! I seem to collect patterns more than kits...will never do them all, but love just looking at them. I'd keep the Pana Moose...he'd make me smile on a Cold winters day!

I could be sitting next to you showing the same amount (maybe more) of charts,kits etc. the more I watch flosstube the more I buy. And I also just purchased a needlepoint chart, floss etc and hope I have the nerve to start it someday!!
Oh, my!! I love kitting up my own. I give you huge kudos for doing the Dimensions kits. I take one look at that jumble of floss & it just makes me cringe. The thought of untangling that mass of floss sends me running. They are beautiful & I look forward to seeing your starts & finishes. Lately I have been drawn more to kits! I’ve been buying cross stitch kits and quilt kits instead of just the patterns. I’m not sure if I’m just being lazy or what! I have so many to choose from but I know when I make a decision to start something, I will have everything I need to jump right in! I loved seeing all of your kits!❤

Ifyou get any “takers” on your half a million dollar kits, you could start building the “she shed “ for your quilting machine and open up room in the crafting bedroom for……wait fir it…..more patterns, material, floss, and aida. It has been a joy to watch you build on your dreams.

This is kinda funny because I told my husband last week if we had a cross stitch store near us I would get a job kitting up their projects. That’s almost my favorite part of stitching.

Loved all the kits. Question when you stitch on 18 count is it better to use 1 strand or 2 . I don't stitch on it much because I don't like the 2 strands. Now I want to buy kits!!
I have Christmas Cove too. It's one my mom was working on years ago and just gave to me. She had it in a box with other old cross stitch she had been working on. However, there is a hole in the middle of the pattern under where it has "The Market Hall" so I can't finish the stitching. Is there a way I could get a copy of the pattern from you at just that little part so I can finish it? There is still a lot that needs to be stitched too. The pattern is very involved. Would you be willing to let me buy Christmas Cove? I have a number of Dimensions kits. I don't like my floss in bags either.
What kind of white floss do you use ? I can't successfully get the DMC white on my project and I remembered you talked about a certain brand that you use. Thank you
I don’t buy kits. Dimensions kits never appealed to me. The designs are so large. I usually don’t like the fabric in the kits either. It is usually a very stiff Aida. I’ve been stitching since the 80’s so I have done a lot of Aida stitching. I have plenty of patterns that aren’t kitted to keep me busy all my remaining days. Enjoy the summer.
