I love the love ornament! Many years ago I did 3 clown pictures-they are needlepoint and totally beaded. I picked up a bead for every single stitch. The large one is 8" x 16" and the 2 small ones are 5" x 7". They were for my mother-she loved clowns-and now I have them. I actually only did about 1/3 of the large one and put it down for about 10 years because I had carpal tunnel syndrome. I am very proud of them! I'm going to email you pictures. Let me tell you I spilled so many beads back then! I keep the beads in round plastic stackable containers and have a ton of beads still!!!! I never saw that thumb thing you used-would have liked that back then! I used clear thread (was super strong) so I could use it for all colors.

I have done a bit of beaded needlepoint like that. I use waxed beading thread sometimes - but I haven't gotten any of my bigger projects to a point yet where it is time to bead (just the smaller Mill Hills), so I am not sure yet what thread I will use.

Hi ... I am so happy that I ran across this tutorial! Thank you so much! But can you please link the handy dandy bead finger thingie? I tried to google it and couldn't find. :(

They are hard to find now. Do a search for the LoRan Bead Nabber. I did and got several shops that had it. I also saw a listing on Amazon but don't get it there - it was something like $15 with $7 shipping. They should only cost about $2!! Good luck!

Why don’t you just use a tacky bill i stead? So much easier when the beads just stock to the surface. You can just pick them up with a beading needle and do the beading.

I do use a small sticky thing I made myself in a candy tin. The problem with them is that it is hard to get the beads back into the container after you are done with the color you need (as they are stuck to the mat). Also as a pet owner I need to be careful of sticky things because it will soon be full of cat hair. But as I said, since this video was made I have created a small sticky mat in a metal candy tin so I can actually also stick it to my project on a needle minder as I am beading. And the sticky bit is removable so it can be rinsed.

I know it’s been a while since you did this video but I love that little finger thing that the beads attached to. I could not find it on 123 stitch. Do you have any idea what it could be called and where I could find it?

Someone asked this exact question about a month ago so I have the answer right in front of me ;-) It is a LoRan Bead Nabber. They are a bit hrd to find now but I did a search and got several shops that had it. I also saw a listing on Amazon but don't get it there - it was something like $15 with $7 shipping. They should only cost about $2!! Good luck!

Where can I find that floss holder you show in this video?
@karlabeingcrafty1089
@karlabeingcrafty1089 11 месяцев назад
I believe it is called a BendyFlip by BagzPlus. It is named for Michelle Garret or Michelle Bendy on FlossTube. You can probably do a search for it on Etsy. I got it from a live sale that Michelle did several years ago.

You are so welcome Chris! Mill Hill kits are really fun to do. Another great tip that I totally forgot to mention is that on Mill Hill Kits, usually the round, circular symbols are the beads and the more angular symbols are stitches. For me, knowing this while I am stitching helps visually with the chart.

Thank you for sharing this! I got my first Mill Hill kit at Christmas and am excited to start it 👍🏻. Do you have a link to that finger tip thingy that helps pick up the beads? I can’t find it on 123 stitch.

It is called a Bead Nabber by LoRan. I just checked , it is on 123Stitch (but you need to know what to search for). It is $1.65. Another great tip that I totally forgot to mention is that on Mill Hill Kits, usually the round, circular symbols are the beads and the more angular symbols are stitches. Have fun with your first mill Hill!!

I really like the finger bead tool, looks like a guitar pick, also using tray from diamond painting is cool. I still want to do a diamond painting just know my granddaughter she wants to do what ever i am doing which is cute but sometimes its not....haha!
