I first saw this technique demonstrated by Stitcherista - / stitcherista
It really is a game changer. You can do a loop start with only one strand or it is a perfect way to do a loop start using two strands of overdyed floss that must be placed side by side.

Thanks for sharing this. I have seen this demonstrated before, probably from Stitcherista, but have yet to try it. My next project is with one strand of floss so will try it! 🪡🪡🪡

I was surprised at how well it works. But it does and the threads are nice and secure.

Yes this is a game changer for sure. I as well saw this on Stitcherista and have been using this method ever since. Always great to spread great methods like you said. Thank you for this video.

You are so welcome! I didn't want to take credit when it is not my original idea - but honestly, I think there are very few original ideas and when you learn something really helpful I think it is good to pass it along. Thanks for watching

Hi Karla! Thanks for the demo. I have watched a couple demos on doing the single strand loop start and want to try it the next time I am doing backstitching if I can figure it out. I need to go back and watch your 3 strands/overdyed one. Happy stitching.

You are so welcome! It is actually pretty easy after the first couple of times.

Thank you!! Saving this one for future reference. I like the idea of using that for variegated threads where you can’t loop.

Awesome! I actually discovered your channel going through one of Stitcherista's cross stitch playlists where she shared your loop method with odd numbered strands video (which got me to subscribe!). I love it when RU-vidrs give credit to others & share each other's tips. It's that sense of community I adore. Appreciate this tip!

Looks good but if you are still stitching over a tail why not just use a waste knot? Just wondering the benefits of this method
@karlabeingcrafty1089
@karlabeingcrafty1089 2 года назад
I am not in the habit of using waste knots, mainly because I do parking on several of my projects, but if that method works well for you there is no reason to switch. This is just another way of doing things.
