In this video I'm going to talk about how I figure out what size chart will fit on my wooden spools as well as show how I determine how much fabric I need to stitch them on.

The taller wooden spools that I used are from Milling Around Maine on Etsy. Here is the link for the medium size brown spool:

Please keep in mind that these are vintage spools and the supply is limited.
I found the shorter spools in a discount store.

Definitely prefer this finish on spools than the kind that go round and round with stitching not fully shown. Doing your figuring will save a lot of frustration for many. Good going!

On the dirty thead ,I would just unwrap until down your down to the clean thread. You will see the actual spool better too! Thanks ❤

Thanks for this very helpful tutorial, it really helped me think outside of the box for picking designs. I lucked into a box of various size spools on FB Marketplace and have been trying to figure out what designs will fit. Happy Stitching!
