Funny, the things you think of, isn't it? One person brought a fold up wagon (sold thru IKEA? And now other stores) because she could carry everything in one trip, including her sewing machine. Others brought their chairs from the Container Store. I usually just bring a bag and have a roll suitcase type bag for my sewing machine. Use the scrapbook boxes to store each quilt project, with extra threads fit in. They go in the bag. Enjoy the retreat

It never hurts to over pack. About the time you don't take something that will be the time you will need it. Happens to me all the time. 😀

Yes! Kea you pack like I do. My bff & I are going to MSQC for a quilt retreat for the second time next month and I swear I pack half of my sewing room.

I have a bungee chair from container store that I love and I take it to every quilt retreat I go to so not weird at all!!

Also, yeah put your name on everything. Just because so many will have the same stuff you have. Saves the confusion.

Great! I sat at my laptop and put it all down! I also do quilt retreats. Cross stitching is easier to pack. I am going to make the clipboard easel! Thanks!

The items you mentioned are great. I would add some pre packaged wet ones, purse size Kleenex, and a extra pair of snips. I also take a lanyard to hold my snips. Have a great time, I jealous!

You guys are so awesome you know Kea you keep saying you want to be best friends with Steph but you can't because in my mind you and I are already best friends LOL ....also you guys have inspired me to learn to cross stitch I'm going to join in on Mania next year but I think I'm going to only do one cross stitch project and the rest quilting but it might change if I get crazy hooked on cross stitch

Kea, I over pack for all my quilt retreats! It’s like a challenge to me to not have to go to the store to buy something that I forgot. As a mom, I just want to have whatever is needed, hehe. Girl, bring your chair, nothing like a bad chair and hurting back. Oh, also, go over to Quilt Roadies and check out Anna’s tutorial for a stitching pillow. It will change your life and save your back, seriously! Have a blast at stitch-con. I know there are many stitchers who are excited to meet you and tech guy!

Kea and Tech guy...I had a question, when you are stitching from the pattern, do you highlight where you have stitched on a copy of the pattern or do you just keep track of what you have stitched by just looking at the Aida cloth? Just wondering...love you two, so fun 😉

I love the duckbill scissors from SS box, too! New to cross stitch, so yeah - when Ducky arrived, thought I'd gift him out, but when FQS started #sewshedidsal, Ducky became my stitching friend! Wondering if the home-made easel stand would work with the frame back glued directly to a lightweight magnetic board? Then could attach the pattern with magnet ala Kimberly Jolly.
