I'm not sure how long this section of the coast path will last, but it's still just about walkable

I wouldn’t say that stBoniface down was that appealing at 2am never thought the incline was ever going to stop!😂. I see the flea on Steephill road but I don’t think you would appreciate an early morning call at 3 !!

Never knew about Flowersbrook because I was more a Sandown / Shanklin resident and only ventured across to Ventnor, St. Lawrence area occasionally. Absolutely beautifu location and the sound of running water is so uplifting. I recall a visit in the late 50's to Hindhead, Surrey, when I attended school camp (we had those sort of things back then, £5 to stay at a disused army camp on the edge of the Devil's Punchbowl for two weeks) and walked to somewhere above the Punchbowl called Gibbet Hill, and as we walked down we followed a stream, very much like the one at Flowersbrook, and were all encouraged to bend down and drink from the stream - probably against education Health and Safety rules now, but an unforgettable experience for a 10 year old lad from the East End of London. Any chance of spreading your wings a little to go to the Brading wetlands (unless it is one where you pay an entrance fee) and somewhere where we (me, daughter and ex-wife) went about 40 years ago, a relatively high (a down) point somewhere westish of Newport, where we encounterted basking adders in the spring sunshine. Memory not so good any more, but coffee is on the way.

Thanks so much for your incredibly kind support over on Buy Me a Coffee Mike. It means so much. Although Ventnor is my home town, I spent a chunk of my childhood in Kidbrooke - so, south of the Thames. My own formative field trip was to the Margaret McMillan centre near Sevenoaks. If only today's film-making tech was available then! I'll be visiting Brading and Culver soon to see the eagles so will create some videos from that area, and Sandown and Shanklin too. I also need to film the central chalk downs on the island so will cover areas around Newport. Thanks again Mike: I'm looking forward to getting the OSMO and putting it to work : )

Talking about Steephill there used to be a 'Steephill' very near to Niton in the old days. I don't exactly know where this was (apart from it being between St. Lawrence and Niton) so if anybody knows..... Tiny mallard chicks up here as at a week or so back. Love to see them dancing around, jumping up off the water catching flies, etc.

Beautiful walk today. Nice that you can enjoy the companionship of a dog (Frodo?) but not have to deal with ownership. Why did you take that path that was closed? Had you been that way before and found it safe to walk? Be careful. Smile more!

Bit naughty ignoring the path closed signs. Looks pretty hazardous to me. Shame as it's a lovely walk along there. Looks like it's gone for good.
