@@bennett3255 Floyd was 36 years old, way past his prime. Floyd's prime was about 25/26. It should be the younger fitter fighter who is a prodigy beating the older fighter who was way past his prime. Floyd prime vs Canelo Prime. Floyd knocks Canelo out.
He said that Floyd didn’t hurt him, but boy did Floyd kick his ass. I’d rather be knocked out in the first 3 rounds than get destroyed every single round and not be able to do anything back.
I couldn't stand Floyd when he was active, thought he was boring, but in reality, although I'd never have admitted at the time, I just don't think I liked that he beat so many of my favourite boxers, because as times gone on I love watching his fights,I'm come to realise he was a genius boxer.
Floyd looking at the ropes after Canelo missed a punch will be a priceless sight to see in the history of boxing . No one will believe someone once made Canelo so vulnerable 😂
Exactly i just watched his whole pro career an when he gets famous people start to hate em a few fights in an litterally believe if they throw a punch at him it’s a win lol
The De La Hoya fight is one of the best examples of this. Mayweather on the ropes, DLH flurries, throws like 20 punches with Mayweather slipping and rolling as fast as he can, crowd goes wild they're loving it. Then you see the replay, and you realize that literally NOTHING landed lmao. Not one shot.
@@ryanq4681 canelo is steady and concentrated learn abt boxing kid he showed it in the Saunders fight he slow but focused that’s how he broke joes pocket eye
@@geramx0 that would be a risky fight for aged floyd. Even he says these days "Why risk my health fighting pros out of retirement when I can show up a youtube boxer for a 49.99 ppv?"
Its cuz he approaches boxing like something to be learned in the moment. He trains to read people rather than to execute a plan. If you focus on perfecting your defense you can afford to learn people in the ring. If your defense is limited you can't afford to see what people will do, cuz it may be the last thing you see. mayweather is not afraid to take punches, as he often welcomes you to try to hit him.
He will never grow up always cherry picking all the old fighters about to retire or already retired no other Champion in boxing have only fought old gate keepers their whole career like this Opie looking fool,he gets no credit until he fight a young fighter in his prime and win on his own and not with the help of the judges as he always get the gifts when he should have gotten the losses from Laura to both Triple G fights Canelo ain't shit
@DAPPR 323 stop crying your boy got whooped wanting a rematch with a retired 43 yr old to prove a point when canelo had a chance when floyd was 37yrs old! let it go.
If you watch the fight fully and not the highlights canelo did better than he looked definitely wasn't a draw I believe they didn't make it unanimous so canelo can make the argument but everyone in there knows he got schooled. That's why he hasnt fought certain black fighters since then with fast hands Lara gave him a scare Mayweather school him he will never fight Andrade or Charlo unless the payday is up there. He never challenges himself against elite in any division
@@Will-nb8qk canelo was 23 against 36 Floyd. Floyd was coming out of his prime but was way more experience and better skilled than canelo who was prematurely young for this fight. 23 is too young and inexperience to fight against Floyd who was coming out of his prime. Honestly canelo will beat Floyd if both were in the prime around 34. Canelo punches are tearing muscle and breaking bones, something Floyd couldn’t do
@@Will-nb8qk still 23 is still too young, Floyd is way more developed compare to canelo. If canelo was 36 and Floyd was 23 then canelo would of schooled him, possibly knock him out as well
thats the translator fault, canelo actually says that floyd hit him a lot in his gloves and then hit him him with punches that wasnt to hard, that they were only to make points. but the translator dgaf he just say "all his punches was hitting my gloves basically" 😂
Mayweather has always been my favorite fighter of this era, however i respect Canelo so much due to the fact he continued getting better after this lost. True traits any fighter should possess💪🏾
I just watched the fight again and then this. His reads and defense were impeccable. If you think about how he did this ( his career) was strictly boxing hands only striking. Fucking beautiful
This was the fight that silenced me as a critic of Floyd and i became a die hard fan. He was masterful in this and made a much heavier dangerous younger fighter look like a chump.
@@joeanthonyguerra5708 You have real issues. Your hatred of Mayweather has made you senile when it comes to the art of boxing. Very similar to the ignorant ASS judge that called it a tie. As for Floyd not beating him now. Floyd is retired but beat his punk ass when it counted. NOW, SHUT UP!
@@Will-nb8qk the reason why it was his most important fight is because what he learnt from it. Mayweather gave him a valuable lesson in "the sport of boxing."
He's not fighting the dangerous fighters tho. Outside of GGG, who was really any threat? He's not going to FIGHT Charlo, Andrade, BETERBIEV, Bivol, Benavidez etc
Yeah in fact I only ever really saw two fighters ever get a read on it: Judah and Maidana. Both guys found a way to counter it but then Floyd adjusted and put it back in the holster to use other weapons. Crazy that out of that many fights only a handful of guys figured it out for a brief moment.
Watching Floyd he’s just a master technician the way he controls distance and positions his body and head to either block or barely avoid punches. It’s masterful
When I hear people say he runs and when I hear people say he's a great defensive fighter but not a real fighter. PLEASE!! But I will say this, who ever filmed this, Thank you for slowing down the scenes so you can actually see how Floyd is punching Canelo hard as hell in the head, standing right in front of Canelo BUT NOT GETTING HIT IN RETURN!! Floyd is not Mexican but he is the real Matador.
It still amazes me how quick and accurate Floyd really is. He truly brings a "science" to boxing and yet this was "creative art". Just a beautiful mixture of the two enhanced with blazing speed and intuitive essence.....HE BAD!!!!!
@Mick Dees Lack of exitment? How can you call yourself a boxing fan if you are not a fan of the sweet science. Go watch some roughnroudy if you just want to see idiots slug it out.
You gotta respect this guy, even if you don't like him,Mr Mayweather. He's fighting in the matrix, he sees your punches coming in slow motion that's why is untouchable.
@@marbtv6313 ggg billy Saunders canelo Caleb plant Tyson fury and these some big boys! All the black fighters you thinking of are tiny midgets from 135 and 140!
Canelo saying that his prime self would beat prime floyd is blasphemous. Floyd is on a level of his own, he would literally adapt to any fighter and beat them so dominantly
Canelo is lucky Floyd isn't the same age as he is, no matter how many times they faced, I just don't see canelo beating him, even canelo himself got this better after facing Mayweather
@@curtisjefferson778 I watch and read up a lot on boxing do you really believe Floyd would of beat any of the four maybe journeyman was a bit strong but champion no.
@@michaelmoran9399 yes this dude is a master boxer do you not see what he does in the ring he isn't fighting he's boxing show me a better boxer then him, someone who has mastered the weet sicence better than this guy
I love how people say Canelo's defence got better. You can only say that if a fighter has a high connect rate. NONE of the fighters Canelo fought since Floyd has a connection percentage near Floyd's.
As much as it hurts to see canelo lose, it is clear though that Mayweather was better and deserves nothing but respect. Canelo learned from his mistakes and he's now making history.
It's like a master fighting his student. I think this fight probably actually HELPED Canelo become a better fighter. He looks so young and fired up, such a difference from the boxer he is today.
It was but what makes you a good fighter is going after the best always testing yourself to see where you at because if don't you will always remain in one spot win or lose!!! Look at haggler sugar ray leonard, Duran. They Never had no excuses. They where real warriors 🥊🥊👍👍😎😎🙏🙏
@@javier8101 who knows, we will never kniw, I do think he didn't beat de la hoya, I do think maidana beat him the first fight, as well as Castillo. He wasn't perfect.
@@maximusilive4theking986 that's because we all look back on Floyd's fights with a very skeptical eye. If he gets hit 3 times, everyone suddenly explodes into thinking he lost. He tore de la hoya up until the last round where he gave the fans a little brawling Maidana hit floyd with a whole lot of half punches that glanced off his shoulders and gloves. But everyone hypes it up anytime someone puts glove to head(even if partially). There are varying degrees that make a boxer great. But if you ranked every boxer in every aspect, floyd would come out on top everytime.
I would put the first and second Maidana fight and the Shane Mosley match, because he was under pressure in those fights and he managed to think his way out of it.
That ending edit was perfect. A fighters pride wounded is just like that. That tie from the judge was salty... And I'm not big FMJ fan, but that was ridiculous. Amazing skills, this guy needs to be studied and learners from. Not my favourite style, but I love the sport and want to see more talent like his. Pick his brain guys!
Pete Munoz Its a shame that at this level they have such crappy translators. Heres what Canelo actually said “I simply could not connect him with my shots. Those 15 Lbs didnt help because I couldn’t connect him. But he also couldnt hit me alot. He would hit my gloves and also pop shot me they weren’t powerful shots it was just to score points”
aaron pryor he did lose i agree. Infact im happy he lost to Mayweather. Infact i believe GGG beat Canelo as well 👍 i only wanted to show how bad the translation was thats all🥊🥊
Floyd is one of the greatest boxers ever! I would rank him as the BEST defensive fighter. And it's very evident when u watch his fights in slow motion. The opponents miss & Mayweather connects. Floyd isn't a brawler he's a masterful techtician!
It’s crazy how Floyd made Canelo look like he didn’t even deserve to be in the ring with him. I don’t think Floyd got hit with a power shot the entire fight. What a masterpiece by Money May!!!💪🏾👑TBE
@@yovngmeechilar3524 best beat down of someone who was regarded so high. You must listen to what the commentator said about canelo before the fight started
floyd was 10 toes the whole fight. he even stayed in the pocket inviting cannel to let his hands fly. People find a way to hate on greatness and thats just how it goes.
@Bohanable Bo no. That judge's name was CJ Ross. She disappeared from boxing after this fight. I believe she was exiled from the sport. This fight wasn't the first fight that she had rigged with a horrific score
Crazy to see how no one can touch/beat canelo right now, Yes canelo learned alot from this but floyd was levels upon levels above everyone, respect to floyd. 🥊
The only ‘’inexperienced" boxer in history who had fought 44 before this fight and had 6 title defenses, against a ‘’prime’’(already 36-years old Floyd)
Fam they're digging so hard to find a skeleton they'll say anything even if its complete nonsense. Thats whybi laughed so hard when their Vasily "greatest of all time" Lomachenko lost to lopez.......does that make lopez the greatest boxer ever now that he beat their guy?🤔🤣
To put into perspective mayweathers greatness A 32 year old lomachenko loses to a 23 year old teofimo lopez with 15 fights a 36 year old mayweather SCHOOLED a 23 year old canelo with 40 fights
Juan Montoya obviously dummy, he said he was putting it into perspective and compared how much better Floyd is than Loma, learn how to read and articulate words.
Floyd's reaction to the scorecard was hilarious af😂 that's honestly what we were all wondering though. I like Canelo, I don't really like Floyd cause I think he's kind of a dick, but I can not nor will I ever deny his masterful skill in the ring.
They should have showed where Mayweather gave Canelo his dues and respect in the interview. MW May talk shit to hype his fights, but is always respectful after.
Imagine if there had been another Floyd-like boxer on the same defensive level as Floyd vs Floyd and you ordered the fight on ppv. Depending how you look at it, you’d either be witnessing the best defensive fight in boxing history, or a snoozefest of two guys not getting hit rubbing their shoulders together.
Fans will always say that Floyd kicked Canelo's butt!? But.? If you look closely at Canelo's fights before Floyd, you can see that Canelo doesn't fight that way. In this fight, Canelo was very repressed all the time. !!! as if something prevented him from fighting with all his power and speed.! ??? He looked very uncomfortable for not being able to fight freely.! ??? ... It is very evident that Canelo allows Floyd's blows to enter him too easily.! ??? I believe Canelo received a huge $$$ fortune in exchange for allowing Floyd to retire as the Undefeated Champion and the best pound for pound. !!! But why.??? It's very simple.!!! Floyd represented a billion dollar business at the time. !!! Many rich and powerful people bet millions on that fight and the favorite was Floyd ... !!! .... Canelo agreed to lose in exchange for being the next Champion and the next best pound for pound ... !!!!! And of course.! He also received in exchange Millions of Dollars ... !!!! What we just saw was not a fight. What we are seeing is the best business in life for Canelo ... !!! It's that simple ... !!!!
For us who have had the chance to witnes may mayweather fight we are truly blessed. Am yet to believe will ever meet or witness a king of boxing, a true master of boxing sport like FLOYD MONEY MAYWEATHER💪🏽. Much Respect and Love From KENYA🤝🏾
