Look at the resumes and win streaks. Heavy weights get all of the attention but are almost never the most skilled boxers. Floyd doesn’t care about one punch ability the same way fans do
@@petitpenoit5981 I disagree. I could say the same thing to you but opposite: don’t stop at the win streaks and stats. Are we talking about greatness in numbers or greatness in talent, greatness in how it impacted the sport, Greatness in pure uniqueness.. Tyson would knock out people in a (still to this day) unseen rapidity within the 1st round. He showed his greatness at barely 18 yo and the things he did and how he did them it’s simply unheard of. Let’s not even start talking about Ali.. the actual greatest ever. For different reasons. I’m a boxer myself and I see and know all the people he mentioned and more, believe me nothing compares to Ali’s movements, just inhumane… Not sure if you’re into soccer but if you are you sure we’ll know that the greatest of history is Maradona but not because of what he won (many other great players won way more) but because of how he did things, because of his unmatched talent. So let’s redefine and distinguish greatest in statistics and greatest in what you actually see and perceive.
Sugar Ray took Ls and lost his marbles, Joe Louis took beat downs and extended his career due to financial issues, Ali took too much punishment - not "smart"
@PogChamp mike is jealousMike used to cry like a batch before his fights lol. Not only that, mike was the reason why his 4 year old daughter died 🤦♂️ he was busy high on coke when his daughter died but he's the same hypocrite who talks about floyd not taking his kids to school?🤨🤔 Mike is way stronger than floyd but floyd is stronger mentally. Mike got used by females and the closest ones to him. Mike is iconic and loved by everyone but he's always emotional and has many regrets. Floyd is hated and is seen as a bad role model but he doesn't do cocaine, drink or even smoke. Floyd was way more disciplined and treated his body like a temple. I used to love Mike and till this day I Do but he has to have a good look at himself before downgrading others.

@theothersideofthestory1594 I'd put Mike Tyson there top 5. Mayweather wouldn't be in it, interviewer was just pandering. If Tyson's trainer didn't die and Mike didnt start using drugs, he had more potential to be top 5.
Well no kidding he couldn't describe it probably but really Larry Holmes was one of fhe greatest boxers and undisputed champion. Sure he made to look like fhe villain when he defeated Ali, but he was never too proud of it either

1.) Sugar Ray ROBINSON 2.) Roberto Duran 3.) Marvin Hagler 4.) Emanuel Pacquiao 5.) Muhammad Ali Heavyweight boxing is its own sport and I don’t even consider HW’s bc of this. However, Ali’s impact on the sport and the world IS STILL so monumental, and he fought in the best era of HW boxing, it is impossible not to include him. ALI IS BOXING.
@@601JohnnyRingo of course I respect Floyd’s ability and his achievements. That said, Floyd is not a credible source, as he distorts every view through his narcissistic prism. Floyd is a very insecure guy, threatened by everyone in or around his weight classes as he believes recognizing greatness is a zero sum game. In Floyd’s mind, u can not credit Sugar Ray Robinson or Leonard, bc to do so is to discredit Floyd. Notice EVERY boxing related question/discussion/interview evolves metaphorically into Floyd on the back foot, Philly-shelling, shoulder-rolling, straw-manning his achievements, his matchmaking, his purses. It must be exhausting. That’s the bed he made though. The consequences of his 7 yr 🦆 of Pacquiao is this- never having peace, forever defending.

Your comment only got 4 likes sadly. These casuals only know Ali and Tyson etc. The greats like Aaron Pryor, Salvador Sanchez, Sugar Ray Robinson etc. don't exist in their minds.
@Anon So Tyson and Ali are like the poster guys when it comes to boxing. Tyson shouldn’t be top 5 number 1 because he got beat by great guys. He had a phenomenal prime but out of his prime he wasn’t very good. Ali you can make an argument just because of what he was as a heavyweight with the footwork, hand speed, ect. But he fought longer than he should have. When it comes down to it p4p SRR, Floyd, Henry Armstrong, Roberto Duran, Willie Pep, are all probably better p4p than Tyson and Ali. Hope this helps
@@Landon_J07 no one is good after their prime man, it’s why it’s called their prime, prime Muhammad Ali was a killer as was Tyson, in my own opinion other than those two the best boxers are Lennox Lewis, Tyson Fury and Lomachenko
Larry holmes is overrated, he beat a busted up ali that had his condition, he lost to holyfield, oliver mcall, he lost to mike tyson, he lost to mike spinks 2 times, he beat ken norton when norton was close to 40, he beat ossie ocassio and ossie had 13 losses, he beat leroy jones, but leroy jones had a problem with conditioning, some fights leroy weighed 271 pounds and then 220 pounds

Tyson doesn’t genuinely call Ali the goat he just had big respect, he actually thinks fighters should get ranked in fighting and says Achilles is the best😭
because he usually gets overshadowed by those 3 in other people's top 5's so I'm sure knowing him that he's a little bitter about it 😏 and decided to shun them. Don't get me wrong, Larry Holmes was a great fighter and I do think he's a bit underrated, but I just don't think he takes top spot over Ali.
You can see he is dillusional. he's amazing boxer . But he is a hater. It's Crazy . He has got more money than Ali,Mike, sugar, roy, and Chavez. But would not mention them. Keep fighting exhibition fights Floyd. You are the true definition of a true hater.!!!!!!
@BIGGIEB471 probably because the boxing history tells the story, in the golden age of boxing we have the best competition ever seen between Duran, Leonard, Hagler and Hearns all top level champions in their own right. Roberto Hands of Stone Duran was a literally boxing boogeyman and Leonard lost to Duran, did some serious soul searching and came back to embarrass Duran in the second fight to the point he quit out of frustration mid fight while standing with the famous words that would forever change his life "no mas" no more. And despite many people including Leonard feeling like Marvelous Marvin Hagler was the best boxer and most athletic of the bunch Leonard even found a way to defeat Hagler with some creative allowance, like a bigger than normal ring so he could constantly stay on his bike during the fight. Leonard is easily one of the best boxers ever, period. Fast, smart, determined, natural, strong, aggressive, defensive, movement, flexible in strategy, avoided no one, funny, charismatic, the man is in a class of his own to many boxing analysts, and even a special human outside of the ring, since Floyd is using literally using investing prowess to rank top 5 boxers of all time, might as well also talk about a person's character as well, more important of a thing than how well your investments did to be frank. Not including Leonard or Ali in a list like this is a hater move for anyone who puts effort into understanding the history of boxing. Even sweet pea who really is amazing is only considered to be one of the best defensive boxers of all time but not the best even in that style that goes to Floyd, so he literally included one of his runner up in the defensive abilities, keep in mind that there are many styles, for instances Deontay Wilder might very well be one of the top 5 offensive boxers of all time and that might still mean he is no where close to a overall all time top 5 list.
"Larry Holmes, because he has a jab and made smart investments." - Floyd Mayweather Sounding like Shannon Briggs promoting Logan Paul: "He has legs". 😭

I agree Ali should be on there. Respectfully, I don't think Tyson belongs though. If you look at Ali's record, you just see great after great he beat. Liston, Frazier, Norton, Foreman, Lyle, Shavers.
