Other fighters keep their hands up to defend the head, Floyd defends his body first, arms wrapped around his waist, head leaning back out of range. Reach and eat a jab. When his opponent has longer arms, Floyd still seems to have the reach advantage, I don't know how. Never goes for the kill - what's the rush? Not afraid to take a round off, whether behind or ahead. The guy just sees the bigger picture.

The reason Floyd is a defensive fighter now is because he's suffered from bad hands for years and getting older. Pretty Boy Floyd was offensive constantly throwing fast sharp accurate punches. Floyd said it many times in past interviews that he doesn't want to end up like boxers with disabilities after retirement. The lesser you get hit, the longer you're going to stay in boxing. That's what he said. He's so conscious about his health, that's how he developed his style.
