But u know boxing? Legends admire Floyd but because YOU don't like him he's not good. I'll take the words of Leonard, Hearns,Toney,Holyfield and others. This man just sat there and told you how hard it is to fight the man and you don't get it. Not to mention the reason Floyd fights the way he does is because of BRITTLE HANDS!!! SMFH...
@Ryenobal
@Ryenobal 7 лет назад
Yes. This is the best description I've ever heard of a boxer giving insight on what it was like to face Mayweather. People train to go to war but realize its a massive mental chess game against Floyd. Also, I like how Berto was saying that Floyd was very observant of everything around him including Berto's breathing/energy level. Many boxers and trainer have suggested using many feints against Mayweather, but few ever have really attempted to do so.

Floyd is a old school fighter. Training with vets like his pops, uncle Roger and Sweet Pea. He was able to pick up old school tactics and different tricks of the trade. A lot of these fighters today aren’t old school and Floyd was the last of a dying breed. Shakur and Bud are the closest thing to him. I could say Canelo bc Canelo doesn’t fight like a typical Mexican boxer. Canelo picked up a lot of things from black fighters, mainly Floyd.

It wasn't so much that the got outboxed. I'm sure he's been outboxed before, and I'm also pretty sure he knew going in there he's gonna get outboxed by Floyd. What seems to super amazed him is that he's never been in the ring with someone so embodied the "sport" part of this combat sport. The sport has rules, and Floyd took advantage of just about every one of them. He plays the clock. He clinches whenever necessary. He keeps punch count low to minimize damage, conserve strength, and most importantly, to make it easier for judges to see who got hit more. If there were 3 punches landed and I land 2, it's pretty easy to tell who landed more vs a 25 - 27 punches landing at a 30% average accuracy, for example. The man made point fighting a science.

Yes Floyd caught that and mocked him...but a commentator said during the Mayweather Guerrero fight every right hand from Mayweather is atleast a 7 out of 10...idc who you are you don't wanna get hit like that again...but you know you will....if he wanted to he could up that to a solid 10 and it would prolly still be faster than you could react but after repeatedly breakin his hand and opponents winning rounds due to his inactivity Floyd doesn't try to break your head no more...he's perfectly content with being way faster then you and leavin speed knots and cuts all over the place for 12 rounds...but if you ain got no chin and you ain got no power enuff to make him respect your hands he will knock your ass out...

Lose your cool against Floyd Mayweather and what you do is you get knocked out." *Canelo Alvarez* - "He doesn't expose anything. He's a fighter that if with three punches he wins the round from you, he's fine with that. He doesn't expose anything and give a beautiful fight. He doesn't care in what way he wins as long as he wins. He's very fast and accurate and moreso when he's just trying to make points. I didn't really feel his punches were that strong. But he's making points and he's very fast." *Juan Manuel Marquez* "Mayweather has great defense, long arms, and he's very smart. Mayweather's reaction time is amazing. He sees what you are about to throw and is out of there before you can punch." *Zab Judah* - "His defense is impregnable, his hand speed is super fast, his conditioning is always marvelous. What can you say? The guy, he's one of the hardest working fighters in boxing"

Love his comment about Floyd's eyes; they're calm and see everything. Other fighters keep their hands up to defend the head, Floyd defends his body first, arms wrapped around his waist, head leaning back out of range. Reach and eat a jab. When his opponent has longer arms, Floyd still seems to have the reach advantage, I don't know how. Never goes for the kill - what's the rush? Not afraid to take a round off, whether behind or ahead. The guy just sees the bigger picture.

Been watching floyd since his fight with chicanito. Floyd was a beast but i always felt he avoided fighting volume punching cardio freaks with great chin and packs power in both hands. Margarito, kostya tszyu and prime pacquiao can certainly OUTWORK floyd and look more aggressive. Floyd used to be not so defensive and he was more deadly back then coz he more aggessive. He became more sefensive when his hands gave him problems.
