Hey let me say this scooter seems to be a copy or should I say a new beginning of the original etwow electric scooter I bought in 2019 and I must say that I'm not surprised about seeing this scooter back on the Frontline only this time stronger in terms of speed and range and weight.. Even to the design and style of this scooter is a blast and putting fluidfreeride name on this newer model is shocking and greatly appreciating.. Let me be the first to say.. this guy julian is not over exaggerating in anyway.. i had the etwow which I believe was the European model of the uscooter here in the USA.. i truly am not surprised i was so impressed by the performance of my etwow back in 2019 that I can still feel the confidence and effects of this scooter strongly to this day let me explain this scooter that fluidfreeride is introducing will certainly leave an everlasting impression on you no matter what scooter you buy before or after.. I guarantee you.. I'll even make a wager on this and I don't gamble I currently own 7 scooters.. The etwow being my first ever electric scooter in 2019 to Mercane widewheel scooters and up to Dualtrons... im trying to slowdown buying so many scooters but I'm sure afraid I may have to get the fluidfreeride Mosquito too haha.. i look forward to booking another trip to Miami again.. Fluidfreeride even fixed a flat tire on my Dualtron Thunder a flat that I caught while I was visiting Miami thanks to me already being a customer owning 2 scooters from fluidfreeride they looked out for me giving me half off on the price for the repair because again I had already been a customer of theirs in the past an also Fluidfreeride are not distributors of Dualtrons so I was very very lucky.. Fluidfreeride called me the next morning and told me my scooter was ready for pickup they are the best i left my hotel in Coral Gables Miami and rushed to fluidfreeride to pick up my scooter... Esg can't wait to see your as usual honest reviews this time on this electric scooter scooter the Fluid Mosquito. .. I also test rode the Nami burn e electric scooter while I was at fluidfreeride location in Miami
So glad Fluid teamed up with ETwow -I bought a few of these from UScooter for myself and friends (as the ETwow GT )and still love it despite also owning a more powerful Vsett - would love Fluid Freeride to work with ETwow to create a dual motor version of this one w/ a hard tail for more foot positions - when you hit hills or windresistance its a heavy drag on the single motor -a dual motor would only add 10 lbs and it would still be ultra portable - but would have the power to push up hills and through wind = food for thought
Very cool I think I might pre order this when I have the money. Im a long haul truck driver and been looking for something portable and powerful. Thought I was gonna have to go with a electric skateboard but this looks like it will fit nicely in mytruck! Would much rather have a scooter than a skateboard!
The JOYOR LR8 is a better bargain in my opinion, it's about 10lbs heavier because of the super long range battery 2400aH Panasonic 25mph, and REAL 47 miles to a charge using 1-2 mode. Mine came with a duffle bag for transport if needed. Great scooter!! 3 years 1900 miles and not 1 problem so far. Cost was $829.00 total in 2019. Good luck choosing😁
@@blackheartev5861 problem with etwow is that if customer has a problem, you're on your own. Fluid has a shop here in NYC and you can bring it to them for whatever problems you may have or need to replace/upgrade.
I've seen them with well over 2000 miles with no problems at all. Customer service is a great thing but if you don't live in new York or Miami you're still stuck fixing the problem yourself. It's a trade off I guess, either way I would still rather have the Samsung battery period. China cells start degrading after 6 months depending on your riding.
@@blackheartev5861 I'm with you man! Etwow is a great scooter! I have a Mantis and I do certain things myself but some things I have the convenience of bringing it to the shop. I just don't have the tools, expertise and space to do certain things.
Just ordered mine. I'm not in need of that much speed but I'm hoping it can power up hills (Seattle). The web site isn't updated enough to have a category for mosquito accessories - so my plan for a second charger at the office is waiting a description of the proper charger. Totally stoked. I am hoping it will be a worthy replacement to my beloved Glion Dolly.
@@ConLaiKilla About like the Glion Dolly, 7mph. I'm. Moderate hills are not a problem. Range is. You get like 7 miles before it goes down. As much as I have enjoyed it, that factor is probably going to lead to its sale.
I was so close to buying a Horizon when I saw this announcement, and I think this one better meets my needs for portability. My main question is what is the weight limit for the rider? How long do the solid tires last? And how easy is it to change them if they wear down? This really looks great, but if I'm too heavy for it I'll still end up getting a Horizon.
265 lbs is the weight limit. our colleague is 240 and likes how it handles. Also see Tim's comment. Just note that your range will suffer and you may need to help a little on steeper hills. The Horizon has a similar power output but the 13Ah has 30% more battery capacity. Re tires, we have not run a 2000 mile test :) Our best guess was hat they will last at least 2000 miles based on experience from the Horizon solid rear tire. Asked an long term ETWOW rider and he had not to replace his with 3000 miles on the clock. After 3000+ miles we would recommend to replace the entire rear wheel including drum brake assembly and swap out the front tire sitting on top of the motor. Total around $100 with your lifetime service discount.
@@fluidfreeride thanks for the reply, and that all sounds like it'll work for me! 3000 miles will get you across the whole country, so tire wear is something I won't have to worry about any time soon. And the repair cost is very reasonable if I get that much use out of it. Glad to hear the weight limit works for me, because that's not the case with a lot of lightweight scooters. My main interest is portability for both transporting in the cab of my truck (security and weather protection) and also taking on train trips. Even though the range is a little less than the Horizon, it'll still be enough for what I'd be using it for. Looking forward to the orders opening up for it!
I'm a owner of one of these, concerning about braking and durability of the wheels under the circumstances how powerful it is and able to reach speeds close to 30 miles top speed. If you have to brake suddenly the brakes worked out well, pretty well!!!!! But material of the wheels are no suitable for emergency braking skid is crazy, so rear wheel end it completely square. Other wise I'm happy with the performance of the front traction.
Interesting scooter ...very similar to the UScooter GT SE, looks like a color change and slighting higher top speed. The extra warranty and price is very competitive. Since riding both the GT SE and V Booster my Uscooter I've been impressed with this style of scooter. I'm a very big rider and both models have been amazing...no issues...I don't think you'll have any issues with warranty claims...if this big guy can put heavy mileage on it and it still runs without an issue it's sure to run for everyone else :) I think the only thing I've had to do is lube up the rear suspension...what else has been changed/improved upon from the original GT?
on our old sample GT the suspension creaks after some time - you are right. this has been improved with some added rubber. we still recommend occasional greasing as called out in the manual. other improvements: sinewave controllers for smoother throttle response and faster speed, new cable organization for a tighter appearance, electric horn instead of beep, display programming to allow for cruise control and zero start, tuned down e-braking for a smoother and safer brake experience, sleeker all black design, eliminating the beep on any button press :)
@@fluidfreeride sounds next level awesome and eliminating the beep is a nice touch when shutting down....do reach out if you want a "big guy" review :)
Those tiny tires are my only reservation. I commute into Manhattan from Queens, ~5 miles each way. I don’t have smooth asphalt, and some sections I ride in are chewed up and potholed. While I avoid larger holes with pneumatic 10” tires, I am concerned how these will handle “swiss cheese surfaces”. The larger tires can cause fatigue in my arms, but no loss of control or effect on my steering on chewed up sections. How would this fare on realistically crappy NYC streets?
I commute on it in Manhattan, it can be done but you have to drive pretty defensively and really watch where you're going for potholes and other bad road conditions. A good way I also do a lot is also to jump the front wheel up a curb or over a pothole, etc. To avoid the wheel getting caught/stuck on a big bump. It can be done you just have to pay attention.
I have logged thousands of miles on this type of etwow scooter, mostly in manhattan. I think it's the perfect NYC scooter. The suspension soaks up most of the small bumps but you can can also fold it and take it on the subway easily
@@fluidfreeride I have 5 etwow scooters in total and have never changed any of their tires. My booster V has over 3k miles.. the screen no longer works and i broke a brake thumb pedal in a crash but still going strong w/ the same tires
we would not advise charging a 10Ah battery with a fast charger so we will not offering one for this model. From our experience, larger batteries handle fast charging better...
Being this scooter is so close in performance with the horizon will you guys be upgrading the horizon with better top speed, acceleration and range? And updated display?
The horizon upgrade is in the works - it will get a thumb throttle display. Due to its size, use case, and price point, we will not be upgrading performance and range. The Mosquito feels very different to ride than the Horizon. It is more agile and much more portable (13 lbs less...). Will do a comparison of the two shortly.
Please repeat the control features on the left and right hand thumb throttles? You mentioned the left thumb throttle is the brake that regenerates battery? What's the right throttle for? Acceleration? How many speeds does it have and when one turns the scooter on, what speed does it default to? I got the Horizon scooter so I'm used to using my right index finger for activating the throttle and my left hand to activate hand brake and defaults to "3" when I turn on the Horizon scooter.
left throttle is for brake, right throttle is for acceleration. it has 5 speeds that can be selected when you start up the scooter. once you set a speed it stays until you change it...
@@fluidfreeride Hmm, I would have preferred the hand brake being on my left side since the accelerating thumb throttle is on the right hand side. I suppose I will be using the left throttle instead of the hand brake for stopping/slowing down.. (Learning curve).
we do not do trade ins - all scooters we sell in our shops open box and refurbished have a documented history. Other customers had great success re-selling their scooters privately on eg. craigslist - works especially well in NYC.
What brand of battery does this use ? Chinese cells ? Also, did you guys use “GPS” for the top speed ? The e-twow gt se screen display is off by 3-4 mph. Thanks !
@@jaccamara3862 I have a uscooter ☹️ I wonder if there’s some p-setting to correct it. Maybe the wheel size is set incorrectly for the Uscooter specifications ? 🤔
@@fluidfreeride that’s great news 👍🏻 I feel like 25 mph is the sweet spot. It’s just fast enough in regards to giving spirited fun and cooling down on a hot day.
@@raylivengood8040 mine too. I have a different front tire now, I dunno if that's it. It's pretty accurate up to 20mph you can also change it to kph, that displays mostly correctly for some reason
Hi ! I recently bought the mosquito. I used to use the Segway ninebot. I wanted the portability and speed. But it feels that it take a long time to really start moving. Is there a setting I can change to fix this ???
@@fluidfreeride does this have cruise control ? The video mentioned that “by default” it’s turned off because of beginners, so what about turning it back on ? Thanks !
@@fluidfreeride that’s a great selling point that’s not included with the e-twow gt. It becomes rather tiring holding the throttle down on long stretches.
I was thinking it looked like a updated version of my etwow from 6 years ago. Fluid is just a company that rebadge chinese scooters to sell them in the US
The color, sine wave controller, and options on the screen to not beep. Check out my mosquito speed run on a golf course ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-42ORKVF4TJE.html
I think this was asked a few times already but there was no answer. What type of battery pack is the mosquito using? I think the etwow GT uses samsung.
missed this. the battery pack is manufactured by ETWOW and uses Chinese cells. this was a hard decision given the higher perceived value of branded cells. Due to supply issues and to hit the price point, we went with non-branded cells. They have been tested at length however and perform very well.
If they supported their products better I could easily recommend Fluid, unfortunately I have been given the run around for a week when asking if they sold replacement decks for the Horizon. Not a positive sign for something that one relies on to commute, I simply want to purchase the part, install it, and move on.
I don’t think we stock replacement decks. We should have used decks in stock though. I assume it takes a bit longer to check for these at our service centers. Made a note and will follow up with customer service on Monday.
@@fluidfreeride Thanks, I will follow up today's email. Surely they wanted to know the point of failure also, but then a series of photos have already been sent and after 5k miles no one is trying to assign blame. Appreciate the reply.
I have reviewed the case and customer service will see if we have a great condition board lying around somewhere. We do not stock these as new since board replacement requires quite some skills. After 5k miles, how is the battery holding up? Given the potentially reduced getting closer to 500 charging cycles, you may better off with a replacement.
no - the maximum battery size for airline transport is 120 Wh - the Mosquito has 460 Wh. only the smallest and cheapest scooters can be transported by passenger airline.
@@jaccamara3862 oh wow it’s actually there! I ordered an E-TWow gt before and had to return it. Controls were unintuitive and it would nonstop beep like a cheap Chinese scooter. Hope it’s been tweaked a bit.
It can be turned off so no kicking necessary. Check out my mosquito speed run on a golf course ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-42ORKVF4TJE.html
Don't act like you've been doing r and d on this for four years, this is an e-Twow Booster GT. It's the best ultra portable in the world. But eWheels and uScooters have been selling these for years. In colors too.
We have certainly not done any R&D on this - we have nevertheless been looking for a solution for this particular use case for a long time and made an agreement with ETWOW to produce this for us. It is an adapted version of the older GT, with improved braking, higher top speed, better controls (no beeping), and updated design.
The catch is that its small with hard wheels. Its a good short commuter but is poor under bad road conditions. Check out my mosquito speed run on a golf course ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-42ORKVF4TJE.html
