Today, our adventure began with high hopes of spotting fluke around the bay and reefs.
Derrick, Dave, and I set off into the local bay area, but it was like a nursery out there-just small seabass on the line, one after another. So, we pushed further out to the reefs, where we finally hooked into porgies, seabass, snappers, a sea robin, and even a baby fluke.
The day pressed on, and after visiting several reefs with no major luck, we started to head back. Then, things turned exciting. A blitz unfolded right in front of us-bunkers formed swirling balls on the water's surface, their half-eaten bodies drifting by. The bluefish came alive, hitting hard and bending our rods. In those last moments, the adrenaline surged, turning an otherwise slow day into an unforgettable one.
