Mahi epoxy, mahi epoxy man! You must have mentioned that mahi epoxy at least 20 times… I love your videos because you’re always having a blast and not worried about catching your limit, bitching about the weather,etc. Hopefully one day soon I’ll bump into you at Coney Island and the Steeple Chase pier! Mahi Epoxy forever 🎣

Thank you Habibi, appreciate you watching the video. Any south shore or Rockaway beach will have fluke this time of year. Coney, the bays, really wherever. It is a fantastic time to target fluke from the shore.

I totally tried this lure/gulp combo the other day and what’s hilarious is that I was in the same spot but on a boat and on my second drop I nailed a fluke. But I used a 4” Grub which I believe matches the profile better with the epoxy jig, than the minnow. Thx for the idea it Def works. Ha!
@BobAquatic
@BobAquatic 2 месяца назад
@@frrok1 happy it worked out for you! I use both the 3 or 4, whatever’s available or on sale. It’s a great rig for covering ground but does work well vertically jigged from a boat too

Nice Video. I am presently getting away from Berkley Gulp. They are too fragile and not worth the expense. Yes they do work great but not worth it. I now use ZMAN with a little procure juice, I find Zman work just as good and last 10 times longer.
@BobAquatic
@BobAquatic 2 месяца назад
Gulps a pain, smells bad too. That's great to hear you found an alternative. I agree, there are many ways to catch them without going the gulp route
@JamesP29
@JamesP29 2 месяца назад
Just soak your other plastics in gulp juice... get the best of both worlds. I agree gulp works but it gets expensive with all the small fish tearing them up.
@brendanwoerner3352
@brendanwoerner3352 2 месяца назад
I’ve tried Zman and you can keep all of them. They only attract bycatch in more pressured fish areas.

Gulp once came in strips. They were like squid strip shaped with a reinforced skin like coating on one surface and the marshmallow like stuff on the other. I find the 5 inch jerk shad is made tougher than the 6 inch for whatever reason. It seems the smaller the bait the more durable are made.

I don't know why you are confused , on the last of the outgoing bait is left in a type of deposit. When the tide resumes it's a buffet on the drop-off of the flats to the channel. Fish the edge or a bar on the early part of the incoming. Fish don't want to work hard for food. Try it.
