The method for passing the variable no longer works. The choices aren't even the same anymore. Can you do an update on the method to pass the variable? When I try to translate this I cannot select a "name" for set from variable on the Details page. It only lists one item DocumentID and it is Red and cannot be selected.
From what I understand, this video (backend related) is no longer relevant as Flutter Flow supports sub collections now? I mean, I understand it would still work but it's kind of more work?
The best so far for what i'm looking for, which is focusing on how exactly it flows between backend and frontend. look forward to seeing more... so so much appreciated!
Thanks for doing these Flutterflow tutorials it is not easy to find these online. If you created a big course building apps with Flutterflow I would buy it!!!!
Thank you for the video. Although, I am not sure if they simplified things with FlutterFlow or made them more complex. It's like a maze, one mistake and you are lost in it.
Hi James, good content. How do you implement actualhotel booking? Have you implemented any API to pull actual booking status, dates and price of each room?
Great video. Super-helpful. Honestly surprised at how much we got through in a short amount of time. Thanks for putting this together. Even in 2023 the foundational knowledge is here.
Love the video. I'm making a commitment to Flutterflow, in part based on this video. I now know that Flutterflow and Firebase can take me all the way to MVP and beyond with my start-up. There are some minor issues, where, for a beginner you leave out an move or two related to .. how is he editing that? ... I didn't see how he did that. But, overall excellent. And of course, as of the writing of this comment Flutterflow fully supports "one-level" sub-collections. Now, are they performant or will you ALWAYS prefer high-level collections + references for MAXIMUM performance and compatibility?? Cheers, James
Agree. Some points I was like. Wait. How did he do that? I had to slow it down and watch carefully. Lol. Otherwise, it’s pretty good. Though I’m still having some issues because it won’t run in test mode. Driving me nuts.
@@HaziqahNazurah I did...Tell me a little about the problem you're having. For me, I updated my browser to Edge DEV version and it started to work. Also found out that there were some permission problems.
A helpful video. I had a quick look at your other videos, but I am missing one thing. Can you also explain how to deploy your app? Especially, how to deploy your app for personal use or internal use. Everything I can find is how to deploy it to the app store or google play store. But it is not needed for my app(s) to be in any of these. Many thanks in advance.
Thank you! Really helpful! I had to rewatch it a couple of times, pause, read the docs, remind myself, etc, but in the end I think I understood it all! Great!
God bless your, Sir. for making my day. was really having issues with with connecting queries with database, but this video came with lots of clarity. Thank you Sir.
FF is definitely great but it could still be simplified A LOT more than it is. For example, when you pass the Doc object as a parameter between pages, FF makes you effectively define it twice with lots of unnecessary UI/config to achieve that... why? Low/No code platform should be simplifying that. All I should need to do is have one field in the FF UI where I select the Doc/object I need to pass in and that should be it. Adalo does this and does it well, but Adalo has other problems that render it unusable in the real world.
Went through the tutorial and is brilliant. I was playing with different LowCode/NoCode tool like FF, Bildr, Dittofi, Draftbit, Bubble etc but FF is clearly the winner. Due to the possibility to add custom code, mobile-web-desktop apps, and code export this is I think the best tool out there. There is a learning curve and also there are functionalities that can be and I'm sure will be added over time, this is a brilliant tool. Combined with APIs and AI tools, basically anything can be created. Awesome stuff, keep going mate! I'm following and I keep learning! PS.: For most tools, vendor lock-in and lack of custom code is the biggest NO, I hope FlutterFlow will not change their model
I have a problem when I try to create or open a project. The screen hangs. I am using Chrome and the website has the permissions specified in the documentation. Could you help me ? How could I fix the error? Thanks
Thank you for this video. I have reviewed it numerous times and think I followed it perfectly. I have a small database and am trying to just print the three items from it. I get the page but nothing prints, except the title of the page. What am I doing wrong
for me the problem was that the names i gave the fields in firebase were not identical to the ones i setup on flutterflow (uppercase in one of them and lowercase in the other)
Awesome video! Would love to see how you set up user-generated entry into the DB. If the "book now" button created an entry in the DB, that would be dope.
bro i was following your steps but at minute 18:56 you cuted the video and then another row apeard out of nowhere, because of that i can t put the texts in one collum. Aprecciated if you help, thanks fo the video anyway
Tell me, please, how to make it so that when a precedent is selected on one screen, after selecting and loading the "go" button, it will be transferred to another screen, where all positions from the selected category would be displayed?
Hope you can include in your mastering flutterflow a complete inventory monitoring or POS that is applicable to a Restaurant and Groceries. You can modify the price of course or make another course for another price., Thanks!
Hi, Your tutorial is very good however I am facing an issue of adding backend query in ListView for ReviewList. In new Flutter flow, in Filter option it shows "Collection Field Name", "Relation" and "Value". In value, it select Document ID as a Document reference. After this, I am unable to get values on Review List page? Any help? Thanks.
Thanks for this. very informative! I have a quick question.. I recently started using flutterflow for an app i plan to launch. fairly new to no-code app creation & in getting familiar with the platfrom i've noticed that (on desktop) my app appears rather blurry... even in the beginning turorial for that travel app, dropping widgets in and seperate pages appear blurry. Is this just due to being on desktop & will be more clean/clear on mobile? If anyone knows, would appreciate a reply, thank you.
Very informative tutorial, James. I really enjoyed it. Your English is very clear. I don't have to turn on the subtitles. Will bookmark this for future reference. Thank you.......
Thanks for the great video 🙏 Just a quick question: it seems like FlutterFlow now supports sub-collections? Would be awesome to see a video explaining best practices around how to choose collections with refs vs. subcollections.
Great video! Subscribed!! I want to make an App that advertises for participating restaurants, bars, etc. The front page will advertise content for these places. The user will have the option to then click, order, & reserve a seat before getting there. Like a Grubhub or Doordash but in reverse. Does this make since? Can you please tell me what template I would start with? Thank you!
Helpful. I'd like more beginner tutorials. I know how to set up Firebase and connect and get to a starting screen. That's about it. I'd like to learn how users can add their own input and have it aggregate on a final page. Something like madlibs.
Great video honestly. Backend stuff like this is really important. I think another video that would do very well is if you did a tutorial of making an app like 12 hours haha
This is a gr8 vid - ty. I don't suppose u could build an instagram clone in flutter flow & add functionality to each icon by linking each icon to firebase so that users could sign up, post, see other ppl's posts, etc
