This has to be one of the best, if the best, Fluval Edge planted nano scapes on youtube. It's truly stunning. I could sit in front of this tank and watch it for hours. You are truly gifted to create such a stunning masterpiece inside the small edge which is tricky to work in as I've got the 23l and the 46l myself.

It is confusing to the eye isn't it? The answer is "scale". To create a landscape with free-range for fish etc, choose plants that fit in scale for tank size. A clue is in the common names of the foreground plants: "dwarf" grass (l) & "dwarf baby" tears (r). Tanks that just cram in off-the-shelf and large leafy plants end up looking claustrophobic--and run-of-the-mill. I ordered a 12gal Edge based on this one video alone. I can't wait to Wed. :D

The tiny thing is a co² diffusor! The glas thing beside the filter intake is a "co² drop checker"! ... use google and you will find a lot of information ;-)
so you plug the co2 canister to the diffuser under your filter sponge (ingenious). so the co2 goes into the tank from the filter waterfall rather than directly into water? and the topper is used to manage bad gases? what is the topper plugged into (the wire coming out of the topper goes where?
Yes i have changed them for 2x2W Led spots. Mabe its the temperature of the air in my room? Currently i got 23-24C average. I wonder if the canister filter would give me -1C (i think that stock cascade filter warms up water for about 2C?)
Best looking Fluval Edge ive seen, I have a similar setup, but I have a snail problem have tried Assassin snail's and snail trap's to get rid of them but the snail's are destroying my plants. Was going to try Zebra Loach next but I don't want them eating my shrimp's also. Anyone know of a way of getting rid off pest snail's with out using chemical's ???
Hey i saw the lighting mod you did. it is very nice. What are the 5 leds based on? In the original lighting system, you simply put the lightbulbs in the 2-hole sockets, how are the 5 lightbulbs plugged in? did you buy a base component with 2 holes? if so what part is that
Hello! I've ALWAYS wanted to do a planted tank in a fluval edge, but I am afraid I won't be able to provide enough light for the plants. Can you tell me how you were able to accomplish giving enough light and CO2 for your tank? Any advice would help! Thank you so much! :D

I love the tank. I need a CO2 device for my fluval edge and i am very inspired by yours. But can you tell me what is the tiny component that looks like glass found under the filter sponge? also what is the type of the parts used to i can try to find them. mainly the topper and the part i just mentionned. Lastly, what is the round glass thing hanging beside the filter intake. a light?
By the way, you don't have a snail problem? i have pond snails that won't stop reproducing and eating my plants :( and what temperature do you have these snails and your water at?

Do not use both, only one!!!! My invisible method with the original filtration is the diffuser under the sponge!!! Thy invisible method with a extern filtration is the topper!!!
