I think you could easily solve the audio problem either 2 ways: 1) Make Fluyo somehow integrate with Forvo 2) Make Fluyo be like Forvo and use your community to your advantage. Create some sort of mechanism where people can request word/phrases pronunciation and other people from the community, who are fluent in that language, can pronounce those in exchange for in-game content/coins etc.

I have to kinda disagree with this (at least when used on flashcards. It'd a great feature if used to search for the pronunciation of a sentence or word and to train it through shadowing for example!) Regarding flashcards, I find that all of the words using a forvo pronounciation gives me a big hint through the voice... like when I hear the voice, sometimes I instantly recognize it and remember that this voice was for this word, instead of just recognizing the word based on how it's pronounced. This means that when I hear it from another voice, it doesn't trigger the memory built through the flashcard, so I don't recognize the word On the contrary, for all the other words using like a neutral voice that is used on most of my cards, I don't experience this (voices from LanguagePod, Jisho, iKnow for example)

Extremely hyped, so hyped in fact that i would like to make a suggestion. It doesn't seem like there is much in-game incentive to study using flashcards, therefore, i think having a set of longer, extremely difficult (and rewarding) levels that you have to study hard for in order to complete, could create in-game incentive besides just learning. Additionally, there could also be incentive for the networking features like rewards for streaks.

I’m finally backing! I was ready right at launch before I saw the price of the lowest tier. I typically stick to free options and debated for a long time. But I wanna give back after all the great content you’ve made, how much you’ve poured into this project, and everything you’ve been through. If you guys want another good resource, WaniKani is fantastic for learning kanji. Excited to see if Fluyo is good though, because Asian languages are a lot different than the European ones most apps focus on

@@khalilahd. Fluyo can't make you study you can only make improvement if you speak/study/listen/write/read 1-2 hours a day for 2 years that all it takes, just find material that you like

I'm happy that vocab is the strongest so far because I hate vocabulary practice haha. I mean don't mind doing it, but my brain does. It literally starts to shut down when I try doing flashcards. I start falling asleep, I start losing focus, and I end up needing to review the same words 15 times before they stick. Also Anki is amazing once you have it all set up and working, but that set up process and learning curve for less tech savvy people is brutal. Can't wait for alpha testing!

Any app is only good if you use it 1-2 hours a day otherwise it doesn't matter how good it is language learning is progressive and people burn out because they loose interest or have a unreasonable exception, all you need is consistency to learn any language.

The mini game that has helped me the most with language learning was actually playing an app called June's Journey. It was a hidden objects game where your score increased by how quickly you could find items. So really helped to motivate memorization!

As you said for grammar, something like Assimil that you recomend is a really good course, I decided to follow your advices and to use Assimil back then and it was a really great resource. Really been kicking myself in gear with learning Spanish lately. I'm doing it on Duolingo, and I'm deadset on being able to read the Percy Jackson series in Spanish as soon as I can. It was something I loved reading as a kid and it's a great motivator for keeping my language learning goals in gear. I'm super excited to see the future of Fluyo and look forward to participating in it's community.

I can’t wait for Fluyo’s beta for Kickstarter supporters and of course when it becomes available for everyone in 2024! I would also add that there are some language learning apps that train reading comprehension such as Satori Reader (for upper beginner or intermediate Japanese language learners) and it really helps solidify learning and even prepares learners for standardized proficiency exams! I believe Fluyo will be both super enjoyable and educational so I can’t wait!!! ❤

I'm so glad you're going to create something interactive for audio. I subscribed to Pimsleur for Korean based on your recommendation and I could tell it was good but not for me. Maybe it's my ADHD but it was insanely too boring even though I love the language. I was literally falling asleep while sitting up at my computer doing it. I know they advertise the whole point is that you can do it while driving or cleaning but I'm definitely not a multitasker lol.

You should have a sort of streaming services recommendations and RU-vid video recommendations tab where you recommended RU-vid videos and Series in the language(s) you’re learning

Goodluck! I love language transfer, really an underrated one. Curious to see how Fluyo will do. I feel a little bit sad its gonna be subscription based since that means its gonna be quite expensive 😔 and thats asking a lot from people for a product thats still under construction. Besides that the things you showed all looked really cool and excited to see how its going to be in 1-2 years 😄

I really love the idea of Fluyo, but you should definitely look into integrating uncommon languages too. I am currently learning Georgian on my youtube channel called VTL Languages and it’s definitely a process to learn a language that has very few resources.

I'm currently in a beginner Spanish class (all present tense, basic sentences etc) I'm planning on finishing and then taking all summer using language learning apps like this as well as watching shows etc to be able to test out of the second required Spanish class, and I'm really hoping it works 😭

Apps are a good way to get started while you’re watching tv shows and watching live streams of the language you want to learn, switch your phone into the language. Even if you don’t understand, you have to start somewhere. Fluyo is gonna be that cherry on top too

Hey Ikenna can you create a video sometime of how you learn a language? Like a video of how you do it? We often hear so many vague techniques that I think it would help if we could just see it being done and what it looks like. I dont know any youtuber who does this and I think it can be the thing that can give a few people that “aha” moment so that they can finally practice on their own.❤
