@Ikenna ndewo imeka oh. Being from a mixed heritage too, Igbo isn’t easy to learn without assimilation within the environment. What you touched on, which is crucial is how language and culture meet at the point of deep understanding. Jisike oh? ❤
This is so heartbreaking. You're so bright and intelligent and hearing you say that you feel like it's locked inside you, not gone but locked up. I just feel shattered hearing this. I love watching your videos and I have for years. I know you're not angry, but I feel angry for you! This is so unfair. I really hope things get better somehow. I'm so sorry. <3
This is such sad news, it's rare to see someone as passionate as you and its terrible that your health is getting in the way of your dreams. I hope things work out with your app in the end, you deserve to see it succeed 🙏
I hope you get better my guy. Take as much time as needed. Side note I hope that Fluyo can add Cebuano/Bisayah to the bunch because that's my GF's Native language
Plenty of Americans are bilingual. But opportunities to learn much more are generally non-existent - unless you're a university student, or unless you have abundant easy access to many people who speak the languages you want to learn and practice. Generally speaking, Americans have no real need to be bilingual. Learning a new language is a monumental task, and it's seriously far too much for most people. So this is why people often take the stupid RU-vid courses on foreign languages which might give you a great head start, but are surely NOT the equivalent of learning language in an academic setting. BOTH practical experience, AND a bit of academics are necessary if you want to learn a language in a more or less complete fashion. I speak with authority because I've experienced both, in addition to having actually been a foreign language teacher in a classroom setting.
I’ve been watching your channel for a while now and you have inspired me to learn Spanish and I’m going pretty good in it I hope that you will get better and I will pray for you and your health God bless ❤you
I wish all biliangual parents talked to their kid in their own language, that is the esiest way to teach a child/person a language. You dont have to learn it it will come naturally, same as learning your mother tongue. I know it can be a bit hard to do so because you are in a different country and everyone else is speaking the other language, but the child will lose a huge opportunity. I'm bilingual and I'm so happy that my father spoke to us in hes language even though at first we didn´t respond to him with it. You don´t have to teach it if you just speak it since they´re born!
People arguing what fluency is is annoying. Whether someone feels they are or not is up to them really. The definition of “fluent” is “able to express oneself easily and articulately.”
I like how you tell people realistically how to learn a language. It doesn’t happen overnight like a lot of other people are trying to convince people. This makes so much sense. Thank you
You know that many languages? Dang you must be smart! Maybe because I’m only working on my second language and it’s tough. People that know more than 2 I’m just impressed by, I’m clearly not on your level. 😂
The language is called Mandarin (Chinese). Not just " Chinese". It's like saying I'm going to include Indian and Filipino as languages in the app. A country does not define the name of the national language.
I have a question is it easier to look up videos on RU-vid for native speakers of the language? I’m trying to learn when they’re sharing videos of how to say certain words, and sentences and phrases, etc. better than using an app.? or using both of these would help?
Truly breaks my heart watching that, you're one of the few who have inspired me on my language learning journey. Wish you the best of recovery brother!
I am learning sign language cuz I actually easily lose my voice due to vocal dystrophy from years of not talking cuz of trauma and a rare medical issue called skeletal muscular deterioration which means my muscles and bones break down from not being used if not used for a extended period of time so I'm guessing it affected my vocal chords. And when I get sick I always lose 90% of my voice and it's extremely quiet and really hurts to speak. Also due to my trauma even when I can speak I just can't bring myself to speak to people cuz I have absolutely 0 confidence, I am only capable of speaking to those I am really comfortable with.
damn man.. i got into your channel a few years ago. got lazy and stopped studying korean. i wish you the best and i feel privileged to be able to study now. wow man. god bless you for your work this far
