A fully functional, maneuverable biplane has been created in Tears of the Kingdom.
The creator's original one which has additional parts flies steadier so I assume that's what those parts are for. You can see them on the lower wing at 0:10.
Parts list for this recreation:
2x Rotsumamu see-saw (for the wings)
3x U-Block (these act as a single chassis which separates the wings)
1x Infinity Wing
1x Steering Stick
1x Shock Emitter
1x Guard Rail
1x Motor
1x Propeller (attached to the motor axle then quantum linked to the other end of the motor)
2x Wagon Wheel
2x Weapon to connect the wagon wheels to the biplane. (I used a glitched Master Sword personally, just use something small and maybe avoid metal so you don't attract thunderstorms.)
I also discreetly added 2 Big Batteries for a cleaner viewing experience.

Creator's guide to making the biplane (posted after I published this video): www.reddit.com/r/HyruleEngineering/comments/1dmn5g5/how_to_build_a_biplane/ It includes the parts I left out and how to "stake nudge" the propeller and motor.

Very nice design! The nudged fan is interesting, although it makes the plane feel a bit less real. It also depends on a zonai wing providing rear lift, which is problematic unless you can mod or know a way to make them infinite. (And I looked it up and it seems having enough fan power does the job!)

Well mine is. The original creator didn't have a gap between the motor and propeller and I chose the easy option as I happened to have this configuration in my favourites.

i thought that the center of gravity for the seesawas wasn't in the center, leading to unstable builds when using it this way.is it a different seesaw, or does this build have other techniques to make it stable?

A wing has a mass of 1800 which I would think is plenty enough to override the tendency of a couple of see-saws which weigh 100 each. Though I suppose using 2 see-saws, seeing as one side is heavier than the other, if you attach each the opposite way it'll cancel out the difference, I might look into that.

Do you have to smuggle the infinity wing out of Eventide every time or can you build this once and keep it forever?

The Eventide "smuggle" only ever needs to be done once as you can fuse it to a shield then have it unfused in Tarrey Town at your leisure. Just fuse it again once you're done and you can keep it forever.

Do the "wings" actually do anything for the aerodynamics of it? Like, do they actually help achieve any kind of lift in the flight, or are they really just there to provide stable balance and it's all being done by the propeller pulling the machine forward?

When I tried just having a propeller on the wing with all the other trimming omitted it had a high tendency to ascend to the point that it wasn't viable for general flight at all, so somewhere in this the weight balance is better. The conundrum with biplanes like this is the propeller pulling the front up even when you're going down. I've made a version of this without the wing and it has that problem though it initially works.

I was working on,a biplane for like three hours then i took,a break and went on reddit and I seen this build I was like bruh. But he did do a great job though.

Yes, what I'd like to see is a version which doesn't require an infinity wing. I tried it myself and the front always wants to tip up.

Hey someone else commented that.just saying.

I'm able to do it with fans by making the see-saws oppose each other to balance the weight, just doing it with a conventional front propeller is problematic.
