I was scouting for elk up in one of the wilderness areas and brought my fly rod. Let me tell you, some of those small creeks are honey holes!! Not easy to get to but such beautiful areas to hike!
Great brown trout in the plunge pools, great Brooke’s in baby squatch creek, then back to a creek full of brown’s. Great trout fishing. More large creek browns in the final creek, thanks for sharing,
It was hard to watch the fish handling. I know it’s been said by others. Hopefully they will learn the right catch and release techniques..can start by getting a net..
Agree. It was a Great adventure caught on film, but too many fish held out of the water for more than 10 seconds and then just dropped in the fast water.
Great fishing turned ugly by poor handling, which is just a shame because these were pretty nice locations and beautiful trout. Others have said get a net already. I will say, focus less on the filming and more on the fish. And please...never leave a trout flailing in the stream with a hook still in just to parade them around for a more desirable glory shot. That was super cringey to watch. I'm sure no harm meant, but handling fish properly is right up there with how to tie knots...you just have to know.
Is there anyway you could accept a private message on FB or Instagram for the location? I’m taking my wife to southern Colorado and this is almost dream worthy.
