Here in SW Washington our B Run Coho are big, mean and eager to take a fly! Follow along as we hit several small systems in SW Washington just outside of tidewater! Pete caught one massive coho! This remarkable catch measured an impressive 33 inches long with a girth of 19 inches, we followed the Andy and Ally Gowan Method, estimating its weight at around 19.16lbs.

Wow, you guys really upped your game with this video. Drone, underwater, and sound...love it, keep it coming. And all the fish were released un-harmed. Good to see Pete pretty much done at the end of an epic day. And his PB coho, this day is burned into his hard drive for ever. Tight line guys, you rock.

SWW B Run Coho is something I've wanted to do for some years now, but living in Seattle I've got no clue where to start. No way I'd ask you guys to give up such tiny streams, but how do you go about looking for spots of your own? I'm kinda worried about accidentally running afoul of people who wouldn't be too happy to see an outsider fishing "their" stream as well. What's the timing for the rivers down there?

The first thing we do is check local regs to ensure that it is open for fishing then we generally start with OnX looking for access to rivers and streams. We have explored every river around us and would say every single one is worth exploring. I would say generally speaking Chum is right around Halloween every year then look for the next big rain that jumps the river system. Once that happens it seems to wash out some of the chum and make way for the Coho. We have caught them over a huge range of time. Starting in November even catching them into January while targeting Steelhead! I hope that you don't encounter that down here although we know it happens from time to time.

I've asked this over on WFF but still find myself confused because everyone who responds gives an entirely different answer: What sort of fly line would you suggest for this fishery? I know in the chum video you were just using weighted flies, floating lines, and 20lb leader, but I know a lot of folks like to have sink tips. What's the best setup to throw on the line, be able to catch fish and not break the bank? @@SpawnFlyFish
