Gear: 12 pound seagur fluro leader, Black streamers, 6 wt SA sinktip Conditions: Fairly stained but fishable, 55 degrees morning got to 80 midday sunny and clear Root River Rod Co.:
I rarely see people fishing streamers in the driftless. Do you do that just when it’s stained or regardless of clarity? If so what other colors do you use?
Sorry for the confusion, I was using the sink tip in the video. I hardly streamer fish with my gold. You can it’s great line but I save it for dry fly fishing and nymphing. Most the holes I like to hit are deep in this section and I want that ability to get in front of the fish’s face longer.
@@egrabi1SA sonar sink tip 215 grains I believe. I can get the exact model and share that with you. Leader is a just a 2 section 3-4 foot length. 20 pound butt section to a 12 pound fluro tip. I like short with the small holes and in the heavy stain fish don’t spook. Slightly weighted fly, lead eyes and some lead shank wraps. I always like to fish something with some weight when it’s stained.
