If you want to catch big trout, you'll have to use a big fly. In this episode of KSL Outdoors, we spend a night in Utah's Uinta Mountains in search of giant tiger trout by fly fishing with mouse patterns. Joining us is Mickey Anderson from Fish Tech Outfitters, plus the guys from Twin Territory and Uinta Life. They show us mouse patterns to use, how to cast and strip them, and what to do when you get a huge, surface-splashing hit from a big tiger. This is some of the most fun fishing we've had all year!

Love this! Thanks for sharing! 👍 And I loved reading all the comments from the several folks upset that the location is undisclosed. 😂 They completely missed the point of the video. A large part of the joy of fishing is discovering locations devoid of those who just want to show up, overfish, and destroy a location. We have some fishing gem locations in the Uintas and elsewhere that take some time and effort to visit. Big fish and completely worth keeping our mouths shut and to simply allow folks the same opportunity and joy to discover the many treasure locations themselves if they’re willing to get out, read a topo, put in the work, and do a lot of fishing and exploring.

This is a private little pond in the Chalk Creek area. I would say 99.9% of us will never even be able to get near the property let a lone fish it.

They’re a hybrid of a brook trout and a brown trout.

Uintas…lol this is def a private lake somewhere. I’d believe boulder mountains, but not the uintas with that size of tigers.

This is in the Uintas I know exactly where it is. But it is supposed to remain undisclosed

Not the Boulders... however, Boulder Mountain is an awesome place to try mouse patterns for big tigers.

Definitely private land that you’re trespassing on. Shame on you KSL.

If this is the Uintas then why can we clearly see Francis peak? Obviously on a private lake somewhere like durst mountain, def not Uintas

Bruh I said you can see Francis peak from the lake they are fishing which means they aren’t at the Uintas

Look at the silhouette of the mountains at 3:43 in the vid and you can definitely see Francis peak

You want us to join the "mouse club", but you won't tell us where in the Uintas you are catching those monster tigers? KSL Outdoors pushing everyone to get out there, but yet keeping all locations a secret? I'm leaning more towards Master G's comment of a private lake somewhere and yes, we might be jealous.

Hi Darren. We understand the frustration about keeping the lake undisclosed. But in the episode we talk about many other Utah waters where you can catch big fish on mouse patterns. The point of this show is to educate anglers on mousing techniques, and to generate excitement about trying it out.

This is 100% private land and they are trespassing. So don’t get your hopes up. Shame on you KSL.

@@micahflies so what’s the point of showing people catching fish ? Do they want to be worship about it? I don’t get it. Are they trying to sell something? If you want to share with people then share but people not interested in watching other people catching fish is nothing exciting about it. The public is interested in useful information bud 😂
@UintaDave
@UintaDave Год назад
@@springteen3743this is purely about how to perform mousing to fish in any body of water, specifically the Uintas. This special is not about where to do so, but how.
