I was chasing brookies last week up a feeder stream in the Blue Ridge. It was my first outing this year with really low and slow water, I couldn't dial in my dry or nymph rigs, I was spooking fish where I wasn't expecting them and I gotta be honest I wanted to call it after the 1st hour and head back down to the main stem. But I thought of you guys, got some inspiration and soldiered on. Ended up landing 25 for the day. Now this feeder was still twice as wide as the crazy tight stuff you guys tackle, but I'm intrigued and motivated by watching you get after it.
Sound Bwoi Killa that’s really awesome to hear. It’s crazy the places a Brook trout will lay in low water. I grew up fishing a small brown trout creek and they hardly ever laid in the main part of the pool. Brook trout are like that to when it’s low and oh so frustrating to have one spook out from under your feet in dead water away from the main pool. I really believe the ability to catch tough fish and staying after it is what separates decent fisherman from really good fisherman.
