We caught a number of whitefish while we were nymphing on the first day and decided we would only dry fly fish the rest of the days we had on the river. We were there to catch Cutthroat ... not whitefish.
The water was running high at first, then the dam was shut down and the flow slowed. So it was a bit of a challenge figuring out how to set up our rigs but by the last 2 days we had it dialed in. Mike did catch some great nice sized trout and I got a nice brown.
We dry camped up by the dam and had some incredible sunsets, the waterfall on the river was fantastic and the shoals around the falls were great to get out of the boat and wade fish.
