My tuner ended up being a paper weight, the issue is wasting ammo to get it tuned, then more wasting ammo when you cannot get the same ammo, here in my country and good ammo is over $12 to $20+ a box.
The Fly Swatter challenge is fun stuff but there are more than a few ways to look at how it's being shot. Firing off 25 rounds in under 5 minutes means having at least a pair of 10 round mags plus one 5 round mag, or having five 5 round mags. Attempting to run the course with single feed might be a tad difficult, but that all comes down to the shooter. Having the rifle essentially "tied down" removes a Huge amount of the "shooter factor" and to me that will put those who shoot with a bipod and no rear bag at a clear disadvantage. Therefore, I see the need to class this event with regards to how the rifle is mounted. Yeah yeah yeah, I know it's a "fun shoot" no matter what, but there is clear difference with regards to shooter mastery as to how the rifle is mounted. YMMV, but it shouldn't. 🙈🙉🙊😎
I have not seen this shooting style. Do you feel it allows you to shoot better? It didn’t seem to give you consistency. You have a great setup, I would have expected 0.2 groups all round. I do understand the time limit shooting. My son and I do a 12 shot in 60 seconds competition. Just for fun, but that is pressured also. I am definitely going to try the 5 minute challenge with him.
I have a plain CZ 457 Varmint action in a CZ chassis. No match chamber. I added a Harrell's clamp on tuner last year. The tuner made it Lot # insensitive. I have seven Lots of SK Rifle Match that shoot the same. Caught a windless day a week ago and shot a .386" five shot group at 100 yds. No Yo trigger spring for me. I bought 12 springs from McMaster for what he charges for one. Exact same spring.
You have to set the tuner to each lot of ammo - not just the speed (put a 3 in front of the speed and you have the speed in meters per second - 27 speed = 327 meters per second) but also the day the ammo was made. The difference between 327 and 329 is 7 fps. A tuner set for 329 is very wrong for 327. The other factor affecting tune the most is barometric pressure. It’s all about the timing of the bullet leaving crown.
Yes I noticed the weather is a big factor, not just Wind. I just shot a match with 29 cause the day before it was 1/2 groups but day of the match it was overcast and was shooting 1 inch groups.
I was doing that for a bit. I found that the powder was the same and the bullet weight was the same. The difference of weights was in the primer and shell.
Nice set up! 👍 Try some SK Pistol Match, not the Pistol Match Special. My CZ and quite a few others do very well with it and you can buy a brick for the price of 4 or 5 boxes of the Lapua.
@@rustynut1967 no can't order ammo out of the u.s. Odly enough canada allows you to bring it in but u.s. customs does not allow you to leave with it, also no dealers in u.s. will ship it out. Same for optics guns and ammo. I'm buying a gun from Arizona and it takes 4 months of paperwork to get it to me.
The cheap stuff you are shooting now but plan to go to the more costly stuff. I looked for Midas+ ammunition price runs from $16.88 to $22.99. I have never seen a box of Midas+, or any of the higher price 22LR ammunitions. Everything around my local is $10.00 under; all CCI/SV you want to buy @$6.00 a box. The cheap stuff!
Why bother shooting.. Smday they gonna set by a remote.. We just aiming.. I think this day bench rest less fun start ppl doing finger contact only😢.. Let's just shoot normally either we good or not.. It's fun n ur connect with ur thousand dollars rifle.. It's fun.. Let's hv sm fun
They have that type of shooting already, its called railgun ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-b4idDEwnLFQ.html I'm doing the best I can to compete and win within the rules that the competitions allow me to do to get the highest score. I shoot cowboy action for fun.😁
@@doylemaintenance yess ppl doing railgun back yeaaars ago.. That's why they make special competition coz ppl doing so on normal competition.. Btw even u making a very good score but u do it with many handicap.. No matter how u look at it.. It's not fun at all.. This rail should use for gun manufacture only but if u hv more fun using it as handicap what can I say😁
@@hobikusenapan fun for me and 25 to 30 other shootets at the competition we do monthly. If there was silhoeëtte shooting competition i would do that also. Competition is competition.
That is not true about tuners. Ive been shooting rfbr for 10 years and we use tuners. I havent changed my tuner setting and ha e shot well over 8 cases of ammo of differing brands and lots all with the same tuner. Id be willing to bet money your gun isnt tuned or that it can be tuned.
Some of the worlds top shooters use tuners and some don't. My research has shown me they are inconsistent. I will tune my barrel with the right ammo that it likes and will not be using the tuner any longer as it adds a extra element of stress.
I've seen a huge difference in point of aim and target hits just by changing lot number of same ammo with the tuner set on the same settings. I'll do a vid to show this. With different lot numbers the hits on target can move almost a full moa with a tuner.
