Great coverage Eddie, felt proud that there's still people within the community out there who care. These lads giving up thier spare time to raise awareness and put on a good show 🙏 all attendees enjoyed it. Also well done Tom for organising this
Leazes are a belta band! It’s amazing how they have came together with this community to shake up the council! And the plan has worked as the bin has been REMOVED! Well done lads!
This type of cultural community protest is great it demonstrates and pulls together local folks to highlight services that are not being performed also the illegal nature of fly tippers, penalty where I live is the Tippers van is seized and crushed at scrapyard
There's enough unemployed yobs roaming the streets of Shields why not put them to work cleaning those same streets, I can still remember the guys who used to walk the streets with a bin on a boggey keeping the streets clean, never any fly tipping back then. Maybe if someone told the council it was zero emmision and good for the environment they'd buy it. Yet another epic vid and from my home town no less, great to see community involvement and Tyneside Life right on top of it.
Eddy, Let’s hope that this embarrasses the council into doing their job. Excellent publicity for the imaginative musicians highlighting this neglect. Roger NZ
Yesssss to this!!! Albion terrace is terrible for it and we in the apartments get the blame. Pumping money into streets that don’t need it and ignoring the rubbish and problems
Haha, honestly Eddie that's flipping mint. You continue to surprise: innovative, entertaining, earnest and relevant. Can we get these guys round Nun's Moor Park the day after it's been sunny please? Muchas Gracias.
Love it. I’m just up the road, Alexander Scott park has had the pleasure of 3 burnt out wheelie bins in the last 6 months. Each taking a good week or more to go from the path.
No choice really, under the present system it's either the whip or the chain - Which would we prefer - Anyway, everyone knows that if our votes counted for anything, then they wouldn't allow us to do it.
This is fabtastic,, I've been protesting north Tyne side council for over a year about the state of the streets, the dumping of rubbish and a council that is doing nothing about it on a regular basis rubbish is left in streets for months on end,,
Eddie you need to get up to the back streets of Benwell to see the money wasted on weekly cleanups. Absolute hellhole and it's been like this for years
Christ this is nothing compared to the back lanes on the west road lol they set the plastic bins on fire so had to get the big metal bins. fly tipping is done most days. it’s disgusting and embarrassing. I used to Live there 25 years ago, then they moved all the asylum seekers in and I don’t go near the place no more. I saw a tic tok about the rubbish there! like I said it’s embarrassing.
I complained about the same thing in minton lane people even dumped rubbish outside the council offices at the river side centre and it wasn't until I complained multiple times they actually got a volenteer group from whitely Bay to pick up the rubbish, while council workers stand idol,,
Let's not blame the councils for the rubbish. Blame the fly tippers. The cost to local councils runs into the millions. Communities need to do more to record fly tipping and report it.
The public should question north tyneside council to where and what happened to,,, CLEAN OUR STREET,, after spending money on new vehicles, management, and work force,,, where are they what they doing,,, and get on with cleaning our streets instead of promoting something you don't use,,, at the cost to the public
Fly tipping is a criminal offence. In a democracy, we have a right to protest, sometimes it’s at the inconvenience of others. Protest is not labelled, or categorised as ‘anti social behaviour’ and shouldn’t be stifled, criticised, or silenced by those who are ignorant of our rights and freedoms. In this instance, the local residents were made aware prior to the protest. As a result of this protest, the council moved the rubbish this morning.
That hasn't been dumped. That's been left by a local who ordered too much. Those are really heavy. I'd look for a new wall or path If you want to find your culprit
They were respectful and packed up in good time. They got thier point across, gave some great performances showed just what local talent is out there, defo ones to watch out for 👌. Oh and also they picked up the rubbish lying about. Well done all
