A great little pattern Teeny Nymph from Jim Teeny. Only one material and a very simple tie, for this little generic nymph that can be used just about anywhere for anything.

Excellent process on this nymph Barry! I first heard of this fly from a Salmon (Pacific) fishing article in Field & Stream magazine in around 1984. At that time Jim Teeny had patented or copyrighted this fly. As a 10 year old fly tyer in the pre-internet days, I couldn't even find a picture of this fly. It drove me nuts that I couldn't tie this fly that was touted as the best ever salmon fly in that article.

More often than not, simple is best. I first tied this after seeing it in Terry Hellikson's Book The American Nymph Manual. Mine always looked not quite right because it left you to figure out the application of the pheasant tail. I'll try it this way, I haven't tied one in years! Thanks Barry!

Nice assembly and it must be very effective. It really brings nature closer. I have a question can you show me what you use as vision glasses when you do your little flies. I tried several things but I'm not too happy with my findings. Thanks in advance.
@Thefeatherbender

Thanks Pierre, the loop glasses that I use are called Mega View. I have used several different brands over the years and these are without doubt the very best. www.uhrmacherwerkzeuge.com/Headband-magnifier-MEGAVIEW-with-three-lenses-Made-in-Japan

i bet the brownies in my little spate stream would destroy this, i dare say even a big sea-trout in low water will gulp it, amazing as ever barry 👍👍

Hi Donald, in this video I am using the Kopter spring loaded fine points, they are a little pricy but excellent: www.54deanstreet.it/shop/product/vkm191241zis-kopter-scissors-ultimate-spring-system-7809?category=14

@@Thefeatherbender thanks for replying so quickly,but that is not the one I was thinking of, you had completely dressed the fly then add the parachute hackle last if you do think on and could send me the link i would be grateful if not I’ll keep searching thanks

A parachute isnt a pattern, it’s a technique. Is it a mayfly? Is it a caddis? A stonefly?
@anthonycaton850
@anthonycaton850 Год назад
@@chadmann2724 yes I realise that, just trying to explain what I wanted, i don’t know what fly it was that was dressed but the parachute hackle was added last

A fly called the Purple Haze is a pattern where he ties the parachute hackle last.
