The first time i watched cj tie this I thought no way in **** I could tie that... Now back again watching both Brian and Chad for it I think I have developed my deer hair skills to where I could possibly make a fly look similar lol

Great looking fly but...what is the difference between using bucktail instead of deer-hair ( the belly)for the head?

Belly/Body Hair flairs easier and is less buoyant.

Nice tie! Reassuring to know even the pro's break a feather and snap thread. GSP or not, I've snapped them all, I have a heavy hand though. Thanks for keeping it real.

Very cool pattern and I bet it sheds water really well too. Like how you set flashabou on the bobbin shank rather than the thread, going to have to try that. 👍

Great video! How do you determine the length of the rear feathers, and where to tie in on the shank

The tail is what will set the length for the entire fly. I have tied so many schlappen tail flies that I have a spot on my vise that I use.

Good job 👏 Brian. What a new age classic BIG streamer pattern. That color combo would be deadly on bass, pike, muskie and trophy trout. Still blows my mind that trout will crush something that long, but they are predators too and sometimes are the alpha predator in a water system.

8 wt and sinking line and sink leader, get it down quickly. Fishing can be a lot of work, but big predator brown pulverize this fly. Tying this fly is just above my pay grade, and skill set, so i especially appreciate this video. Kudos!
