In this tutorial, you will learn how to tie a Crappie Day Saver. The total length is about 1.5" long and it is very easy to tie. You can also have a wide variety of color combinations to be ready for any tough situation.
This fly is very effective when crappie are finicky. This past spring I had a situation where none of my proven crappie flies worked well. Crappie started to bite eagerly as soon as I switched to this fly. The name of this fly came from that experience.

I've been learning how to tie 80th oz jigs. This video is very on point to what I've been doing. The 3d eyes, flattening the lead head to apply them to and something I don't have. But I will, and the rabbit fur. I've been trying craft fur with mixed in flash. It's also helpful to see your bodies with dubbing. Thanks for doing video. It helps me, a beginner, to move to another level.

Just found your video. I found it to be very informative and helpful. I have been tying your run of the mill chenille bodied jigs, mostly in 1/32 and1/16 oz sizes. I have put hackle collars on some in contrasting collors. I am spreading my wings so to speak, and venturing out and looking for and trying other techniques. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.

It's like the Mustache Minnow by Mustache Jigs & Flies - a jig adapted from the "Baby Fat Minnow" by Fly Fish Food - except you made this 4 years ago. This pattern is awesome in both natural and vibrant colors. 👍
