Great tip Barry about locking the slotted bead down with thread . As a side note … with all the fly tying videos … it may be helpful to beginners in fly tying to do a video on different thread sizes . For example 8/0 vs smaller and larger sizes , and of course discussion on the different descriptions on thread size . Just a thought. Thanks again Barry, always a learning experience watching you .👍

That split thread CDC trapping technique is the first time I’ve seen that. Learned something new again! Cheers!

Only been tying for about 6 months. Like your clear instructions and tips. I am watching many of your videos and think it's time to get your book! Thanks

I will replicate this much-appreciated new pattern for next week fishing on the Waioeka River down under in NZ. Loved your tips and your masterful tying.

Another lovely fly and what a great tip about the round profile thread lifting the tail, something that had passed me by and I've tied 100s of CDL tails.

Excellent video Barry. I especially liked the tip on seeing the different effects that spinning the bobbin clockwise/anti-clockwise has on changing how the tail fibers set. Mega Thx !!!

@@Thefeatherbender Most definitely. I knew about spinning it to flatten the thread & help it jump backwards but not your trick. Being fairly new, this is why I like to watch videos again at another time so I can pick up on things I may have missed or forgotten the last time I watched it

i think barry if that was scaled up a little maybe on a size 4 it would make a rather fine saltwater seatrout pattern, it looks great 🔥🔥

Nice fly. #8 is pretty big-would you scale down for rivers?
@Thefeatherbender
@Thefeatherbender 11 месяцев назад
Thanks, of course you can scale it down to the smallest size you can tie!
