The Hendrickson hatch is perhaps the best hatch to kick off the new season. A prolific hatch that brings many and large fish to the surface to feed. This is the time of year to prepare for the upcoming season with a little help from my film footage I evaluate my patterns and try to make the adjustment that will give me the best shot at convincing a hungry wild trout. This fly is a classic.

Beautiful Chris. The fly tying keeps me going when the fishing is out. I wish you well.

Thanks Peter! I am sure that you feel the same way about it as I do. We are always learning and this knowledge on what, how, where, when. I caught some fish this year and we went to some great places but it is the continued love to understand the big picture that gets me going and the fish are the reward. I know you see it all based on your great videos. Thank you as always and be well.

Thanks Dan! I have to agree with you about the hatch, it can be pretty amazing if you can catch it at the right moment. There was one day this Spring that I had a pod of very big fish in front of me chowing down. Unless I saw it with my own eyes I never would have thought that there were that many big fish in that one spot. It was amazing. Wish I could say I fooled them all but that was not the case. It did make me return to that one spot over and over never to see it happen again the rest of the season. That is the Hendrickson hatch. Hope you are well.

Nice tie Chris! It definitely is a great pattern Always interesting to watch how others do things. I have always put my dubbing on first before my wings. I also notice you don't use hackle Pliers which I always do. Always enjoy the nice music on your video's as well. Hope all is well

Thank you Bill. I agree. I don't know if there is such a thing as a right or wrong way in this case. I just hope that when i throw it in there in April the fish won't be able to tell it apart from the other thousands that are floating by. Just looking to fool a few. Health and Happiness to the Ward clan!
