Bucktail is a staple ingredient and mainstay of many salmon flies, and for good reason. The blend of fluid movement, silhouette and toughness which good old fashioned bucktail possesses as a tying material lends itself perfectly to the job of tying salmon flies. In this video, I will tie my take on what is probably the most famous of all the bucktail flies, the Willie Gunn.
