Great tutorial, Barry. This is a fly I resisted for a long time. No idea why. As the story goes...then one day it was magical! I've always had a few in the nymph box ever since.

This fly also works well with a silver bead head. This is one of my favorites and go-to whenever I’m on the river. It catches trout! 😃👍🏼

My favorite nymph! On a 3906 or the 3906B, usually size 8. Love the way you built the body! Cased Caddis maybe, but after looking at the two Iso Nymphs Preston Jennings tied for fishing the Catskills I think the Z B passes for that too. Either way, it's a very fishy attracter nymph. I like your wet fly collar too, I usually tied a beard, but I'll try tying the collar. That flank looked so cool before you clipped it short that I'll tie some uncut for a minnow type affect. Thanks for the inspirations Barry!

Very nice tie! Regarding the non-lead wire, why not cut it to size from the start and apply all of it to the shank and thus make the trimming of the ends superfluous? Oh, you have certainly made me want to try the Sheer 14/0 as a fine non-GSP thread :-)
