The ultimate battle between the two fishing styles is back! Four teams, three days, two styles of fishing, one winner - ladies and gentlemen, this is Fly vs Jerk 6!
The four teams who fight in this round of Fly vs Jerk is:
CWC Fishing Team with Stefan Trumstedt and Albin Sharghi
Team Vision Sweden with Niklaus Bauer and Thomas Søbirk
Team Abu Garcia/Svartzonker with Evelina Henriksen and Claes Claesson
Team Vision Finland with Tuomas Rytkönen and Pyry Granlund.
Executive producer Johan Ruhe, produced and directed by Pontus Sjölund, photography by Tobias Ekvall and Robert Lindqvist.
This is the first of six episodes of Fly vs Jerk 6 - The World Is Watching.

Gotta give this channel a big thumbs up, because exactly one year ago I accidently found Fly vs jerk 5, which was airing at the time and after that I was so hooked to pike fly fishing that I didnt use any other fishing method last summer.

***** Not yet, I have only fished in lakes so the biggest has only been around 5 kg. Hopefully I catch the 10+kg next spring when I go to my friends place at the sea.

There are so many team I'd like to see in this competition in the future. Like, team JR (young), team old-style (spinners and spoon-lures and stuff), team subscribers (people from RU-vid that are fans), team seniors (65+) and yeah... stuff like that.. :) But I love this series so don't take it as critique

I know that most tournament rules state that a team member must touch the leader for the catch to count, but where does the rule come from? Why does it exist?

***** Ah, found the reason: IGFA will consider a fish officially released when one of the following actions is completed: A. The mate is able to grab the leader B. The swivel hits the rod tip C. The connection (knot, splice, etc.) between the leader and the mainline/double line/ fly line passes through the rod tip In other words, the mate touches the leader so the person with the catch won't have to do any of the other two things.

Leader touch means the fish counts for numbers. So if the fish gets loose from the hooks right at the boat BUT you have touched the leader it still counts.

+bestialdeath6 thanks. I actually thought it was a Scandinavian superstition. Like I the did it they would catch more fish. Like the banana thing. 😀
